5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD!
I first heard of this band through another band called The Muckrakers. They are both from Louisville KY and play a lot of shows together. And being from KY myself I try to support the local music scene. I have been a long time fan of The Muckrakers since their days at Western Kentucky University ( My Alma Mater) and saw that several people who listened to them also...

2.0 out of 5 stars Nothing special
Although nothing on this album forced me to cringe; there was nothing compelling me to hit repeat either. Kind of an indie-pop, alternative rock sound without reaching the nadir of either. I like a few of the songs; Too Late, 100% Free, and Caged, but the balance of the cd kind of melts together without distinction. Potential; perhaps; realized; not yet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD!, December 20, 2004

I first heard of this band through another band called The Muckrakers. They are both from Louisville KY and play a lot of shows together. And being from KY myself I try to support the local music scene. I have been a long time fan of The Muckrakers since their days at Western Kentucky University ( My Alma Mater) and saw that several people who listened to them also listened to Digby. So I figured that I would give this CD a shot; and am I glad that I did! I have not been able to stop listening to it. It is one of those CDs that you can just pop in and let play, no skipping past bad songs. So take my word for it. You will not be disappointed. Digby has a fresh sound like I have never heard. Great lyrics, and great guitar licks. A CD that you will be singing along with on the second listen through!

Also look for The Muckrakers new CD to be out early in 2005 on the same record label as Digby.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesomeness incarnate., September 21, 2004

I have been a fan of Digby since before they were Digby and am secretly in love with their bass player, so maybe I'm a little biased.

However, local Louisville band Digby presents one of the easiest listening albums that I've owned in quite awhile. The tracks are selected well so that you don't get swallowed by a muck of the same thing. A fantastic mix of folk, rock and inspired lyrics makes Falling Up a great any addition to any collection. If you're not already a Digby fan and are looking for something that you haven't heard before. Falling Up's the album for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Album, August 20, 2006
By
This review is from: Falling Up (Audio CD)
Definately Digby's most polished cd... I'm looking forward to the next one. Here's a rundown of the tracks.

1. Minerva (5/5) Very very catchy. "was it good, was it good, was it good?"
2. If you Only Knew (3/5) Not my favorite.... Actually, my least favorite Digby song.
3. Too Late (4/5) Easy to dance to, sing along to, just a lot of fun in general.
4. One Hundred Percent Free (5/5) Will definately get stuck in your head!
5. Falling Up to the Stars (4/5) Also not my favorite... but still good.
6. Caged (5/5) Any song that uses the word "hornswaggle" in it is good in my book!
7. Keep Your Distance (10000/5) My absolute favorite of all the songs on the cd. Piano is amazing, as is the instrumentation.
8. M.I.A (5/5) Also very catchy...
9. It's not over (5/5) "It doesn't matter if you like it or not.." I love to dance around to this one.
10. So Low (5/5) Great song for when you're sad. Heartwrenching lyrics.
11. Some Can Hear (5/5) One of my favorites. It's a decently angry song, but done beautifully.
12. Til the morning (4/5) Not the strongest song to end a cd with, but a good song anyway.
** Bonus Muckrakers Track** Cigarettes and Magazines (5/5) Great song... I had to buy their cd after hearing it!

I have the distinct pleasure of living in the Louisville area and go hear these guys every chance I get. I love the songs Too Late, Minerva, Falling Up To The Stars & If You Only Knew! I don't understand why these guys aren't getting more national play time. They beat the heck out of alot of crap on the radio these days. If you like 'em also check out Carbon Leaf-Indiana Summer, Guster-Keep It Together, Buddahead-Crossing The Invisible Line, Dishwalla-Opaline and all the other great cds on my Listmania List.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just plain Good., August 16, 2005
This review is from: Falling Up (Audio CD)
I met this band while in South Beach on my vaca. They are cool, fun and chill guys, who are just awesome. When they toured in my area I went and just fell in love with their music. I bought their CD and listen to it almost everyday. The songs rock and I am listening to them now. Get the CD. You won't be sorry.

After listening to this cd one time through I was sold on what these guys are doing. It's like taking the best elements from the Pop genre and the best ingredients from the Indie Rock genre and mixing them together like a gourmet meal. Songs with lyrics you can relate to and actually believe in. On most cd's there's some weak songs but I'm hard pressed to find a weak song on this cd. If you're not dancing while listening to this cd you should check your pulse because you're probably dead.
