A Little Disappointed, But Still A Good Debut, June 4, 2003
I first heard of Lillix, on Trl a few months ago, and was excited to listen to all 12 tracks when it arrived. I must admit, the songs are catchy, and fun to sing along to, but not all the tracks are that good, and I'll explain why. Half of the tracks are under 3:30 long, and because of that, by the time you get into the song it ends. Even with that being said, I still enjoy listening to each song and think it's a good debut. Here's how I rate each song.
1. "Tomorrow" - 10/10 Catchy lryic's, good beat. One of the better tracks, and a great way to start off the cd. Length: 3:44
2. "Quicksand" - 10/10 probably my favorite track on the cd. Some of their best lryic's on the album, are in this song. Length: 3:46
3. "It's About Time" - 10/10 Their first single, and the second best song on the album. All four of them seem to be having fun in this song. The chorus is very catchy. Length: 3:41
4. "Dirty Sunshine" - 8/10 the chorus is probably my least favorite part of the song. However, it's still great. 3:17
5. "Sick" 9/10 Another one of their better tracks. This one is just fun to listen to. Great beat. 3:37
6. "Invisible" 8/10 Once again, the chorus is my least favorite part of the song, but that's because it seems like the rhymes are a bit forced. Here is an example from the chorus "What do you want to see? She. Someone who isn't me." It just feels like they worded it badly, just for the rhymes. 3:44
7. "24/7" 6/10 I know this song is written by Tasha-Ray Evin, by it sounds like a filler track. It's okay, but the repeated use of "24/7" gets annoying. Sadly, this is the longest song on the album coming in at 3:58.
8. "Because" 7/10 This song has a good start, but it ends, before I could get into it. It's soooo short that (in their own words "It's over before it has begun". 2:26
9. "Promises" 9/10 This is their verion of a love ballad. Truth is, I like it, but it's meaning does not seem personal. The lryics sound like any other "don't go" kind of song. 3:22
10. "Fork in the Road" 9/10 A good song, strong lryics. I'm a little suprised that this song is so late in the album, because it's better than a lot of the other tracks. 3:11
11. "Lost and Confused" 8 1/2/10 It's a pretty good song, but not very memorable. 3:16
12. "What I Like About You" 8/10 This song is used for the tv show "What I like about you". It's a good cover, of the original song, but not the best song on the album. 2:47
Overall, this is a very good debut. And the gals of Lillix should NOT be compared to Avril Lavigne. As a fan of both Avril and Lillix, I can tell you that both are good in their own right. The enhanced part of this cd features the video for "It's about time". If you like that song, you should get this cd. If not, you may want to wait and see, based on other future singles.

Hot new Chick Band ready to kick some ass, June 13, 2003
Canada has done it again. But this time it's not Avril thats stealing the spotlight, it's the all girl rock group "Lillix". The band consists of guitarist Tasha-Ray Evin (17), keyboardist Lacey-Lee Evin (19), bassist Louise Burns (17), and the newest edition to the band drummer Kim Urhahn (23). With all 4 girls playing their own instruments Lillix brings a new style to the music world. Their first single and current hit "It's about time" has claimed a permanent spot on MTV's TRL. One might judge Lillix as a complete copy of Avril Lavigne, but this band is far from it. In fact, "It's about time" is a poor representation of what the rest of the record sounds like. Tracks such as "Dirty Sunshine" and "Sick" clearly show the bands talent for writing powerful lyrics and music. "Quicksand" and "24/7" will have listeners relating to the lyrics, and rockin out to the tune. Overall "Falling Uphill" will inspire you to pick up a guitar (or a pair of drumsticks) and start your own band! This is a great record with a great band backing it up.

Good pop album, catchy, June 1, 2003
It would have been 3 1/2 stars, but ... does not offer that...
First, let's get this straight: LILLIX is NOT rock; they are pure pop. However, that doesn't take away from the fact that they've put out a decent debut album. Perfect for bright, sunny days and roadtrips, most of the songs on Falling Uphill are catchy and better than what's currently on the radio. The girls in LILLIX are definitely talented.
BEST SONGS: Tomorrow, Invisible, Quicksand
WORST SONG: 24/7 It's the only one I consistently skip. It really irks me, annoys me, and drives me up the wall.
Overall, Falling Uphill is worth your money. It's decent pop music.
