What A Book!!, April 5, 2002
This review is from: Falling for You (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Kim Louise has made it to my favorite author list. Her latest book has you burning the night light because you just can't put the book down. Sabin Strong has been hired to protect Montgomery Claiborne from someone who wants his life. In the search of her birth parents she needs this job for the money. But what she was not expecting was losing control of her heart. She falls head over hills in love with Montgomery.
Montgomery knows that someone is trying to kill him and on his first meeting with Sabin he thinks that she may be the one. His thoughts changes when Sabin is there to save his life more than once. It was nice to see how Sabin and Montgomery's relationship blossoms. And they not only begin to trust each other but fall deep in love.
I don't want to say to much because you have to read this fast and easy read. You will love how the secondary characters also keep the pages turning. I think that Kim should continue the story of Montgomery's sister Cherlyn and Lucien. It will be an interesting story.
If you haven't picked up this book, I urge you to run to the nearest bookstore. You will not be disappointed.

Hot! Hot! Hot!, November 29, 2002

Hats off to Kim Loise!!! I think this is her best book yet. I was not too impressed by A Touch Away, but this one more than makes up for it. I loved how Sabin was not the damsel in distress, desperate for a man to rescue her. Instead Kim "flips the script" on the average female heroine stereotype. Sabin is strong, fierce, and independent yet somewhat vulnerable. I loved the storyline. It was full of suspense and intrigue, the passion was intense and will leave you breathless. Great ending, but I wish it were a little more involved. It was an overall great read! Worth every penny!

Really 3 and a half stars, July 5, 2005
This review is from: Falling for You (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
The plot: Someone is trying to kill Montgomery Claiborne. Sabin Strong has been hired to protect him. Montgomery doesn't know this and at times suspects she might be the the one trying to kill him.
The compliments: I liked that Sabin was a strong woman who could take care of herself and her man.
The book is very well written and the characters are well-developed.
The complaints: I didn't like Montgomery. He was a pompous, stubborn, self-righteous know-it-all.
By page 50, I had already figured out who was trying to kill Montgomery. Mystery over.
The main characters don't spend much time together in the first part of the novel and when they did, they spent it arguing.
The story develops too slowly; the book was over half gone before Sabin and Montgomery shared so much as a kiss.
Time was wasted developing a romance between Montgomery's sister and a police officer. I wouldn't have been irritated by that it if it wasn't for the fact that the author kind of dropped that storyline and didn't pick it up again until the last chapter (which is really only an epilogue). In actuality, their romance was more interesting/entertaining than the main romance.
Conclusion: Not a bad book for the price, but I probably won't buy another book by this author. My main complaints would probably be that the romance between Sabin and Montgomery took too long to develop and the constant bickering (over EVERYTHING--significant and insignificant) that went on between the two of them.
