The future of Swedish music,
This review is from: Fallingwater (Audio CD)
I spent last year (2003- 2004) in Sweden studying at a university. This was the one album everyone was excited about, and they had every reason to be. Joakim Berg, the lead singer of Kent helped to write and produce this album with Miskovsky. You can tell because he uses his talent well on this project. I also had a chance to see Miskovsky live in Goteborg Sweden in December 2003, an awesome show. I am hoping her record company will see some potential for her in the North American market.

This an album I bought on a recent trip to Sweden; where this CD is a BIG hit. It's an absoulute delight from beginning to end. The songwriting and singin is pure genius and it's filled with beautiful ballads and some faster songs. Get it you will not be disappointed.

A Hot Blonde with a Hot Album,
By
This review is from: Fallingwater (Audio CD)
Lisa has had a lot of success in Sweden, selling many albums and now is getting recognized worldwide, yet slowly. She is a very talented artist, writing all the album tracks. She is also an athlete who plays hockey and does snowboarding. And she's a hot blonde so that can't hurt her CD sales.
Her songwriting styles reming me of the pop/rock styles of Pat Benatar, Sheryl Crow, The Cardigans (you remember them) and a modern version of Fleetwood Mac. Basically she has the talent to possibly achieve great success. The best songs on the album are "Sing To Me", "Sweet Dreams", and "Take Me By The Hand". Then there is a more up-temps guitar tune called "Midnight Sun", that rounds out the album making it a great album from this new artist.

Falling Water Falls Hard,
By Mike (Pearland, Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fallingwater (Audio CD)
The first song I ever heard from LM was on a Hard Rock Hotel compilation cd ("Driving One of Your Cars"). That song is what prompted me to by her first cd, which is excellent BTW. Needless to say, I was very excited to learn she had a follow up cd. After listening to Falling Water, I have concluded it is the second worse cd I own. I was completely disappointed and considered asking for a refund. Unless you're Frank Zappa, I think an artist's fan base expects to hear some continuity of style and songwriting with a development of maturity over time. If you heard the two albums back to back, you would not even know it was the same artist. The first album has alot of drive with interesting twists in arrangements and rhythms with the aggressiveness of say, maybe, Alanis Morisette (Jagged Little Pill). Falling Water sounds mostly like a country Fleetwood Mac. It sounds like Lisa was trying to go for a more mature growth (which I feel she falls VERY short) and abandons the style of the first album. It really depends on your musical tastes, I guess. If you loved the first cd, considered yourself forewarned. It's my own fault, I didn't listen to the sound clips ahead of time...I suggest that you do BEFORE buying this cd. Sorry Lisa fans, I'm just telling it the way I hear it. If you like it, great, have fun.
