Simply a fantastic game. It has an extreme amount of real-life attributes, and with all the dlcs, you don't miss out on anything the game has to offer. My only complaint is that Bethesda's games are buggy, but after awhile they work out the kinks. I recommend this to anyone who like Skyrim, open-world games, or sci-fi.

There are some glitches here and there, but other than that its a perfect rpg game! Amazing story line and even some Easter eggs here and there.

NOTE: This review is for the PS3 GOTY Edition of Fallout 3.

This is a difficult game to review. The game itself, when it works properly, is a 4/5 star game. As many other reviewers have pointed out, the gameplay, graphics, and story are all engaging, and the game combines FPS and RPG elements in a way that works really well. Unfortunately, it often either does not work properly or does not work at all. Over 2 play-throughs, I've encountered quest-breaking bugs, severe slowdown in certain areas or when several enemies are in close proximity, all manner of bizarre graphical glitches, and crashes about every 10 minutes in the later stages of each playthrough. I've heard that the bugs, glitches, slowdown, and crashes are more frequent on the PS3 version than on the XBOX or PC, but on the Fallout wiki, virtually every quest, character, item, and location in the game has a long list of bugs and glitches itemized by platform. The PS3 version may indeed be the worst, but it looks like Fallout 3 is only somewhat functional regardless of the platform.

Bethesda supporters are apt to say things like, "With such an ambitious game including so much content, there's bound to be some bugs and glitches." I can accept this, but when the functionality issues are so severe that the game becomes nearly unplayable, meanwhile instead of patching the game the developers release 5 DLC add-ons, it's clear that something has gone very wrong.

I enjoyed many aspects of this game, but I don't plan to buy any other Bethesda releases.

Fallout 3: Game of The Year Edition is one of the greatest games on the Xbox 360 system. The company behind it is Bethesda, who is headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, i.e. the name. The game takes place in the DC region so the developers have a high degree of realization of how things look within DC and the surrounding area.

The game is amazing and with the game of the year edition you get an amazing amount of content, I would say at least 200 hours of gameplay. So if you like RPG's this game is for you. The only thing you need to make sure of is that you have a hard drive for the Xbox. Fallout 3: Game of The Year Edition (Xbox 360) installs all the additional content on this hard drive.

Thank you for reading my review, if you have any questions feel free to email me, I would be happy to help you with any questions you have.

Bethseda software has accomplished what I thought they or anybody else could do: "Top their own achiements!" I started playing this game right after taking my PS-3 out of the box. It took only 1 hour before I had completely wandered away from the main goal and went exploring. What a game! I do recommend setting the difficulty level low, till you master the controller. otherwise, this is one great game. I highly recommend it to anybody who loves and likes to get lost in a RPG.
Thanks Guys and Gals.

My son loved this game. If you are into action and such. This is a good game, not recommended to younger kids, it does have violence in it.

Wonderful game. Love all the DLC. Glitchy as always with bethesda games, but way better than New Vegas and Skyrim in my opinion.

I don't know where I was in 2008 when this came out! I don't know how I missed it but I tried this with GameFly and loved it! The map in this game is HUGE and with so many places to explore, super mutants to kill, quest to do, you easily spend 55+ hours in this game. Not to mention with 2008 graphics are really decent. Plus the portrayal of Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland city landmarks are nearly spot on. Not perfect but when you walk through the national mall and see the DC ruins, you think about the real world of DC. It can give you goosebumps. The only other thing that it will physically give you is a serious case of frustration with the freezing. The game freezes a lot. However, despite the freezing it is a great game for fans of shooters and those loyal to the Fallout series.

Love the fallout series especially fallout 3. Love the story more than fallout new vegas, easily my top favorite game. But this is for a review of fallout 3 game of the year edition. Gamers beware the goty edition is really buggy and glitchy. It took me three hour playing the game that should have been 30min in game. I've play the vanilla (original) version on the ps3 it work fine except for the occasionally 3-5 freeze problem everyone goes through. But overall I suggest the original version not the goty edition.

Even after playing through this game countless times, it never gets old. I can't wait to see the improvements Bethesda has for Fallout 4.
