Product Description

Each game won a strong critical reception upon release and later spawned Game of the Year editions.

Oblivion's main story revolves around the player character's efforts to thwart a fanatical cult known as the "Mythic Dawn" that plans to open the gates to a realm called "Oblivion". The game continues the open-world tradition of its predecessors by allowing the player to travel anywhere in the game world at any time and to ignore or postpone the main storyline indefinitely. A perpetual objective for players is to improve their character's skills, which are numerical representations of certain abilities. Seven skills are selected early in the game as major skills, with the remainder termed minor.

In Fallout 3, the game begins with the main character as a newborn, whereupon the player determines the race, the gender, and the general appearance of their character. As the character progresses through the game, experience points are earned that are used to achieve levels of accomplishment. Upon achieving a new level, the player receives a set of skill points that can be assigned to improve any of the Skill percentages. For instance, increasing the lock pick skill grants the player the ability to pick harder locks to unlock doors and supply crates. A Perk is granted at each level, which offers advantages of varying quality and form. Many Perks have a set of prerequisites that must be satisfied, and new Perks are unlocked every two levels.

Fallout 3 takes place in the year 2277, 200 years after a war over resources that ended in nuclear holocaust in 2077. The setting is a post-apocalyptic, retro-future, covering a region that includes Washington, D.C., northeast Virginia and parts of Maryland. The game's landscape includes war-ravaged variants of numerous real-life landmarks such as the White House, the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials, Arlington National Cemetery and the Washington Monument. 5.0 out of 5 stars Bethesda Studios is Awesome. June 1, 2012
Platform for Display:PC
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Hi VG crowd, these games created by Bethesda Studios were Game of the Year in both 2006 -2007, and are totally engrossing and fun in a seemingly infinate expanse of this free roam gaming template (Roleplaying) type of game. Both games lets you customize your avatar to look like yourself, (or Reptilian in Oblivion) and let you run around in both 1st person and/or 3rd person shooting, stabbing and questing to your hearts content. Nobody makes these games like Bethesda, and I know Fallout 3 WILL run on windows 7, walk on windows 7, run over windows 7 or whatever translates into; these games work perfectly on my ASUS Notebook running windows 7. If your PC equipment is junk, upgrade. It's only too bad these aren't available in Download version, but for the price it's worth the experience. RAJ, "running all over windows 7" lol

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic July 21, 2013

Either of these games is easily worth hundreds of hours of gameplay. Together...forgetaboutit! Runs super smooth full-screen with the recommended settings on my ASUS laptop with Windows 7. You won't find such an immense landscape of true gaming freedom for this price elsewhere. Oblivion takes you to the time before man ruled the world, and Fallout 3 shows you what happens after man worn out his welcome. KILLER!

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Both games worked GREAT on Windows 7, and I must say that I am very impressed with the price that I recieved both games for. The first few minutes of actual gameplay were slow for both games, but after the five minute mark, my computer picked up the quality and speed and worked fine every time else. GREAT JOB BETHESDA!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
