I read about this product before it came out. When it came out at the 29.99 price point, that seemed like too much. You can buy the game of the year edition of each of these games for 20 bucks, and both have a lot of DLC that this package does not come with. So initially I was just going to keep waiting for the GOTY editions to go down a little in price. But I was able to get this while it was on sale for 19.99, and for someone who will probably not even get around to the DLC, that was a steal.

So far I have only played oblivion for about 5 hours (the game has already been reviewed to death so I wont go into detail) but it quite fun and definitely not outdated. The graphics are still quite spectacular despite it being 8 years old. Yes, you do get slower loading times than you would expect (installing to your hard drive cuts them down a bit) and the framerate is a little low at times, but overall the graphics are very very impressive.

I may or may not get around to updating this review once I have spent a bit more time with these games- let me know if you'd like me to.

If I didn't already own these two games, I would buy this. Fallout and Oblivion both have HUGE free roam maps that hold hours and hours of side quests. In both games you can join the "good" or the "bad" side. Oblivion takes place during medieval times. Weapons include swords, axes, bows, and magic spell you can makeup yourself. In Fallout it is setup after a nuclear war. Weapons can be crazy. If you like guns than this one would be better for you. You can use baseball bats, knifes, pistols, rocket launchers and every gun in-between. If you find the right gun, ANYTHING can be used as a weapon. Both games have good story lines and they can go in multiple directions depending on your choices. Rent them if you want to try first (you would pay more if you rented them vs buying them and finishing them because they take so long to beat) :D

I had never played either of these games before I bought the double pack and Ive gotten about 70 hours play time out of them and counting. Reviews about the games themselves are easy to find so go look at them and if they sound like something you would like to play then the Double Pack is a great investment.

After playing Skyrim I wanted to play Oblivion one last time, so I picked this up. Having just spent countless hours on Skyrim it was difficult to go back to Oblivion. The game play and layout is so vastly improved from Oblivion I was actually a little disappointed. The only other complaint with this great price is that neither game comes with instructions. Having never played Fallout 3 this was frustrating. I am not sure why the games did not come with the foldout instructions, but it was a cheap way to save a buck and had I known I would have purchased the games individually for a small fraction more.

Okay, if your looking for an in-depth review of both games included here, look somewhere else because otherwise, I'd be typing an essay right now. I only say this because these two have been reviewed to death so if I said anything about it, it would be common knowledge stuff, haha.

My thoughts on them? These both are great role-playing games. If you think these two are "overrated" titles, believe, you are mistaken. These games are amazing in everywhere, especially Oblivion. If you haven't played Oblivion yet, then man are you missing out. These both come in 1 case with no instruction manual, but you still get both games (No DLC included). I really recommend this set if you looking for an affordable package. These games offer over 500 hours of gameplay, so for the price your paying, this is seriously worth it.

Fallout 3 is post-apocalyptic, and Oblivion is a more Medieval setting. Both are vast universes to explore and they are very creative and unique. Both games though, despite being Third and First-person RPG's are very different, so don't confuse these as the same game set in different time periods. These games have beautiful graphics that still hold up very well despite being more than 5 years old. So get this game if your looking for two amazing RPG's for the price of one, you won't regret it. I highly recommend Youtubing gameplay footage of both of these before you make your purchase though. I love both games though, so I would recommend it anyways. Enjoy!

I purchased Skyrim and truly believe that it's one of the best games I've ever played. It made me want to explore some of the other Bethesda games out there and since this was on sale at the time, I pulled the trigger.

I was happy I did. Fallout 3 is very similar to Skyrim. It's open world, extremely full of depth, and addicting. Overall I think that it's a little slower to play than Skyrim was and a little bit trickier to pick up, but once I did I loved it. A great game and even more so when you realize it was released in 2008!

I haven't played Oblivion for more than an hour unfortunately. It seems like it would be a fun game, especially by reviews out there, but after playing Skyrim I found it hard for me to become used to the less impressive graphics and some of the differences in play dynamics. This doesn't mean that the game isn't impressive. I realize it came out in 2005 and nearly 10 years is going to make a difference. It was just hard for me to spend time playing when I had Skyrim and Fallout 3 laying there, when both gave me much more enjoyment.

Overall I was happy with my purchase. For the amount of entertainment that I've received, it's a fantastic value and I highly recommend it!

Good price and good games.
I have only played 1/2 of Oblivion but I am enjoying it and glad I made this purchase.

A few faults but nothing that takes away from the game:

Oblivion has one fault though and that is setting up your character in the beginning. You choose a few major skills from a list and the skills you do not pick are minor skills. To my knowledge there is no way to change these without creating a new character AFTER the tutorial.

Being extra picky:
Armor seems to "top out" quickly and you are left to find magical items that offer bonus abilities.
Weapons seems to have the same fate BUT variety is much higher.
They only had a few voice actors, so in meeting a few hundred people in the virtual world they have all had 1 of about 7 different voices...

I can't wait to start Fallout 3, but I have to finish the 1st game.

I bought this game pack on a whim as a gift for my husband. it was on sale for about $12 so I figured I couldn't go wrong. He enjoys the call of duty games, fable, and racing games mainly, and each of those usually gave him about a week or so of play time before he got through all the action (I'm not in on all the gamer lingo, so bear with me.) This game (Fallout) has been keeping him busy for over a month now and he says he's nowhere near finished exploring everything. he hasn't gotten to play Oblivion yet, but so far, this purchase has been well worth the money.

An amazing deal. These are must have games. For those who is new to adventure games that require strategy, these games are a must to own, the lower price makes things much easier.

The thing I don't like is that although the games are great, great graphic, great story, and there just so much to do. The loading screen can be annoying because they do appear frequently and a bit long at times. I played these games on my PC before and the loading screen is extremely short.

These are both older action/adventure rpg games that are just plain awesome. Unfortuantely, the gameplay style is not for everyone, reguardless of how great the stories are. A quick glimps on youtube for a gameplay video is the best way for you to see if it is something you would be into. Me personally, they represent about 80 hours of my life I can never have back...good times.
