Not Her Best,
By A Customer
This review is from: Falls of Gard (Hardcover)
I think that Laura Black is one of the most talented historical romance writers that I have read. I loved Glendraco and I loved Castle Raven and I really liked Strathgallant and Wildcat. This story has a lot of potential but it does not fufill it. The first person approach has always been a great way to get to know the heroine. Normally Laura included enough interaction between the heroine and the hero so that you get to know him. Here she does not do so. In fact when the characters decide that they are in love with each other you want to laugh because it is entirely unbelievable. There is not even sufficient evidence that they are attracted to one another. On the other hand it is a short and sweet read and the mystery is good. Unfortunately the love story takes a back seat to the mystery.
