5.0 out of 5 stars Blush traveling on the right 'Path'
Being a fan of Blush for several years, I am excited and proud of their first official US release "From the Falls to the Path".

2.0 out of 5 stars zzzzzzzz
The production is good and everything, but the songwriting seems a little amateurish, too typical of the standard Garbage-influenced, female-singer, heavy guitar bands that are all over the place. Also, their press release makes a big deal about Mary Cushman's voice, but it's not like it's mind-blowing or anything. She has a good voice, but overall, there's just very...

5.0 out of 5 stars Blush traveling on the right 'Path', March 7, 2006

Being a fan of Blush for several years, I am excited and proud of their first official US release "From the Falls to the Path".
Blush has been around since 2001 (probubly even before that), when they released their first self-titled indie release. They have played all over the region, on a Tony Hawk tour, and Warped Tour. They released a self-titled CD in Japan in '03 (still available on amazon.com) The album showed great potential for a young band still finding their sound and voice. With "From the Falls to the Path" released on Rust Records, Blush has found their sound and voice. The sound is a little more harder and darker, the lyrics are more mature and insightful, and the vocals are stronger and more confident. With this album, Blush exceeds all hopefull potential and shows more potential of being a career band. The production is amazing this time around, and more impressive is the fact that Blush themselves produced the album. After the "success" of Rust's first act "Cherry Monroe"...Rust hopefully has made Blush a number one priority on their label, since they have the most potential for modern rock success. Note to the guys in the band: PLEASE don't start wearing scarfs.

All in all, "From the Falls to the Path" is an album that shows the long road the band has been on. Blush has paid their dues and deserves the catapult that this album can bring. Lyrically, it is the story of a girl who has been hurt, dicked over, and left alone but still has hope to accheive something greater. At least that's what I get from it. In a world full of Ashlee Simpson's and Avril Lavigne's. There should be more rock chicks like this one. Mary wouldn't be caught dead lip-syncing.
So, congratulations to Blush. You guys have come a long way and I wish you more success.

5.0 out of 5 stars WISH I WOULD HAVE HEARD SOONER, March 24, 2006
This review is from: From the Falls to the Path (Audio CD)
Apparently Blush has been around Akron Ohio since 01. I have lived in Akron all my life but saw Blush for the first time in Toledo Ohio a couple weeks ago. In a word, "excellent" "refreshing" (ok two words). Great music with meaning. I like the slightly dark side to their style.
As for the "Kids Reviews" containing negative comments about this band, maybe you should listen to track one and stick to entertainment more on your level such as Nick at Night etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album for playing loud and driving fast, March 8, 2006

Blush so rocks!!! Every song is addictive...with each track, you find yourself turning it up louder and louder and then just screaming along. With all these guy-band rock-n-rollers out there, it's about time we had a strong female singer to growl and swagger with them. And the guys in the band are so hot, especially that frickin' cute bass player! I can't stop listening to this...

5.0 out of 5 stars This is an excellent disc!!!!, May 31, 2006
This review is from: From the Falls to the Path (Audio CD)
I have seen this band many times and was very excited when they released this CD. It's always interesting to read the various reviews to see what people say about disc's before you buy them... but I try and NOT let myself be swayed by other peoples opinions, one way or the other. Good or bad. A few of the bad reviews here seem more like vendettas, than reviews about the music. THIS IS A REALLY GREAT DISC!!! It has really good songs, from the first track to the last track, and the mix is EXCELLENT. I hardly ever hear releases by indie artists that are this strong throughout the whole disc. So what are these REVIEWERS talking about???? Well I checked out some of their reviews of other products and they just seem like people who BASH EVERYTHING...so take it with a grain of salt folks....check out some clips AND if you like them....you'll dig this fine release by this band. In my opinion there are so many good songs on this CD, that I can't even decide what my favorite is (it depends on my mood)...There are some great textures here. Oh and hey...the Vocals on this record are WAY above average, sometimes I'd even have to say angelic....anyway, I highly recommend this disc...and by the way....this band is really great live...if you like the disc...check out a show

They may get better with time, who knows.

3.0 out of 5 stars more pop than rock., March 22, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: From the Falls to the Path (Audio CD)
I saw these guys, and girl in Toledo, Ohio a few weeks ago. I saw this cd and bought it to see if i'd like the cd better than the live sound. no surprises here, folks. overproduced pop music with overdriven guitars. it's ok, but i think it's missing the danger that made rock bands fun. point is, if you want good, clean pop music, here you go. another cd to add to your growing collection of disposable music...ie, third eye blind, fuel, matchbox 20 etc. if you want real rock music with soul, look elsewhere.

i really didn't like this cd. i don't think the singer is very good. the melodies are kinda boring, but i do like the music. if they got a new singer i'd probably like it a lot better. i'm only 16 and a girl too, but i'd have to say this band sux!!!
