4.0 out of 5 stars Great Read But Sorry Ending!
I loved this book until I reached the last page and then I wanted to cry out in frustration! This book kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. The suspense just builds and builds and you keep thinking things are wrapping up too neatly and something awful is going to happen. I could not even guess as to what it could be but when I finally found out I was...

3.0 out of 5 stars Excellent beginning; fizzles out toward the end.....
When I first started reading Alan Jacobson's debut novel 'False Accusations', I thought it was one of the best mystery thrillers I have read it a long time. It starts out very strong and builds up a wonderful momentum. We hate Brittany, admonish Madison's impatient wife, are crazy over Chandler's intervention, feel very sorry for Madison, dislike Jennings and Denton...

I loved this book until I reached the last page and then I wanted to cry out in frustration! This book kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. The suspense just builds and builds and you keep thinking things are wrapping up too neatly and something awful is going to happen. I could not even guess as to what it could be but when I finally found out I was disappointed. The ending just does not seem to go with the rest of the story. It is very off and not believable and I felt cheated. Otherwise I enjoyed the book immensely. I found some parts to be a bit dull about the DNA and the repetition of Ms. Harding's deeds but all in all a commendable first novel. I look forward to reading "THE HUNTED" and hope the ending is better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it, loved it, loved it!, November 9, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: False Accusations (Hardcover)
Well-written, well-plotted, great characters. Kept my attention. These days I need a good book to escape everyday stress, and False Accusations fit the bill. Had a thought as to where it was going, but then the plot twisted and I had to start thinking all over again. This is one of the best books I've read this year. I told everyone in my office and two other people bought it. One read it overnight! We both agree: we loved this book.

Man alive, was that fun! The narrator, actor Z. Ivanek, makes this thriller from start to finish. By use of voices and inflections, he takes us on Jacobsen's journey of innocence compromised, and never lets the listener down. You won't regret the purchase, let me tell you!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book except the very last page!, September 8, 1999
This review is from: False Accusations (Hardcover)
I gave this book 4 stars because it truly was exciting and I did enjoy reading... most of it... The problem was the very last page. There were no hints or clues to help the reader along with the conclusion of this story... The author could have easily made any of the characters (or anyone in the world for that matter) the culprit with the evidence provided. Twists are wonderful when they are substantiated, but dumb when they aren't.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT READ!, October 23, 2000
By
This review is from: False Accusations (Hardcover)
This book kept me on the edge. I couldn't put it down. It ignited my emotions. I had a mental picture of every thing that was happening. It was like watching a video. Well written, fast and exciting. It is obvious that the author did a lot of legal research and home work on this one. I hope that they make movie.

5.0 out of 5 stars False Accusations, June 25, 2000
This review is from: False Accusations (Hardcover)
I read constantly. I have a book in my briefcase at all times. Never have I been so excited as I am about False Accusations by Alan Jacobson. Once I began the book I had much difficulty putting it down. I had to re-read the ending several times as I was so shocked at the outcome. When I learn about the publish date of this authors next book I will be standing in line at the bookstore hoping to get the first copy! I recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense and a very well written book. Great job, Mr. Jacobson. You have a great career ahead of you!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Buy, Fast Paced, Heart Stopping Thriller, February 14, 2000
This review is from: False Accusations (Mass Market Paperback)
I was so immersed in this book that, even after my plane landed, I continued to read it as I walked through the airport terminal to get my luggage! If you relish an engrossing plot with characters that jump off the pages into real life becuase they remind you of people you know and love, then FALSE ACCUSATIONS was written for you. This is one phenomenal book....Alan Jacobson's next book is already on my birthday/holiday wish list!

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't start this book if you have something important to do., September 9, 1999

This review is from: False Accusations (Hardcover)
The reader is instantly drawn into a web of suspense that has the chilling realism to it that it could happen to any one of us. One of the best suspense novels I've read lately, it definately falls into the "can't put it down" category. I am looking forward to Alan Jacobson's upcoming novel, The Hunted.

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK IS A MUST READ THRILLER., March 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: False Accusations (Hardcover)
Are you as tired of the same old legal thriller as I am? Initially, I was hesitant to purchase a psychological thriller for fear that it was the same old story where once you read the first chapter you have the story line and the characters figured out. I bought the book anyway just to see what a first time author had to offer. I must admit that I was truly taken for a ride while reading this book. The story never flatlined. I was on the edge of my seat and could not put the book down until I flipped the last page. The characters were so real to me that I was able to empathize with them, hate them and love them depending on what emotion the story evoked. I cannot say enough about this book or the author behind it. This book is an absolute must read for anyone looking for a great new story. I am impatiently awaiting the next book by Alan Jacobson and am planning to read 'False Accusations' again just to make sure that I didn't miss anything.

5.0 out of 5 stars First Rate First Time Author, March 12, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: False Accusations (Hardcover)
A friend loaned me this book and told me not to begin reading it at night because I would not be able to put it down. Regretably, I did not heed her advice and stayed up (most) of the night finishing this book. What distinguishes False Accusations from other pyschological thrillers is that it combines good old fashioned storytelling with believable characters and a rich plot. Although I fashion myself as one to guess the outcome of mysteries before the end, I was completely blown away by the plot twists and creative, clever ending. I can't wait to read Jacobson's next novel. Oh - and that copy of 'False' that I borrowed from my friend ... well, she is just going to have to buy a new one for herself!
