Book Description

March 1, 1996
Sometimes getting what you want isn't all it's cracked up to be...

In training for the upcoming 10K race, George is working up a heavy sweat, determined to do well and ensure qualification for the track and field team. But at times winning can be deceiving, and Nancy's beginning to wonder if her promotion at "Wilder Times" is on the up and up... or if Jake's been pulling strings.

Speaking of deception, what's the deal with REACH? Dawn Steiger has already joined the group, which promises to work for peace and understanding, but Nancy suspects REACH has a different goal and she's out to get the story. Bess, meanwhile, wants to know Paul Cody's story: Is he for real... or just another guy out for a good time?

More About the Author

Carolyn Keene and Franklin W. Dixon are the pseudonyms under which many ghostwriters penned the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series, respectively. Both series were created by Edward Stratemeyer, founder of the Stratemeyer Syndicate book packaging firm, in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

Stratemeyer's daughter, Harriet, and syndicate writer Mildred Wirt Benson were the two people primarily responsible for bringing the iconic character of Nancy Drew to life in the minds and hearts of millions of readers around the world.

This review is from: False Friends (Nancy Drew on Campus #7) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is a great book! I've read the whole series and they are all really good espseacilly this one. Its the beginning of Nancy and Jake's relationship and has some unexpected moments in it. Also Bess meets Paul Cody and discovers some pretty interesting things about Paul. But she is resistent to date him because he belongs to the Zeta fraturnaty and worries remembering what happened the last time she went out with someone from Zeta. This book is really good is you enjoy romance and confusion.

3.0 out of 5 stars wow what a shocker, the bad guys name is mitch, and he's a hunk, August 28, 2006
A Kid's Review
i'll say it again, by now you know me, but i can't stand that name, because the mitch i know almost exactly like that, blonde hair,(probably streaked)glasses,(about to be contacts), and of course dreamy eyes, not to mention 5'10" height, yes girls he plays football, and basketball, oh by the way, he has a girlfriend,he says. anyway i really glad the mitch in the story got his comeupance in the end. oh i borrowed this whole series at the same time, all 30ish books, and read them in about 7 days, yes it's me the amazingly fast reader, check out a review for harry potter 5 and you'll know what i mean, so in conclusion, this series is perfict for those of you who:like just enough romance, a little bit of mystery, and of course are nancy drew fans through and through! now i have to blow, but i'll be back, peace out and god bless! p.s. i'm really, positively, thirteen, but i still don't have an email address, trust me when i do, you'll know, lol.
