5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing gun for the price.
I, like most people, wanted good quality at a fair price. After looking at well over 100 guns, this particular gun looked the best. From distances within 20 feet, the shots are dead on accurate (after tweaking your sights to your preferences). Any farther and the BBs (I was using .12g) tend to curve up. It is easy to compensate for it if you know what you are doing. .20g...

3.0 out of 5 stars INACCURATE
i bought the version without the attachments, while it can hit a quarter from 50 yards, the weapon is highly inaccurate and you'd have to be DAMN lucky to hit a quarter from 50 yards with it. great range though, easy to rechamber bbs into it, mag is difficult to deal with, a couple bbs fall out everytime you pull the mag out. all in all, great starter gun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing gun for the price., March 4, 2011

This review is from: Soft Air Famas Tactical Rifle/Red Dot Scope/Silencer/Light, Black (Sports)
It is easy to compensate for it if you know what you are doing. .20g BBs would probably fly straighter for longer. The gun seems sturdy and well built.

Attachments:
The silencer is useless because it doesn't make the gun quieter, just less accurate. The flashlight and the thing it sits on (I dunno what to call it) really just adds coolness to your gun, which really doesn't matter. The flashlight is more for indoors and dark, outside it just gives your position away. The red dot scope is an adjustable plus sign. The iron sights are adjustable also, but if you don't know how to use iron sights, your best bet is the red dot. There is no grip included. There is a switch on the side of that gun that says hop or normal, I couldn't find out anything about why those are there, if you know why, please respond in a comment.

This is probably one of the best spring rifles you will find that is less than $50. It is accurate, has a high FPS (around 350) and is fairly light if you use the sling included. This gun can be for beginners, but is geared more toward amateurs(beginners having never played, amateurs having some experience).

If you do decide to get this gun, be sure to have some kind of short range automatic if you are playing airsoft matches, and buy an extra mag for fast reloading.

this gun fires well, Has a decent range and is Very accurate. needless to say the sight needs to be dialed in or it wont be accurate. but one its sighted properly it works great. I would DEFINATLY reccomend this to anyone who needs a spring rifle thats reliable

5.0 out of 5 stars famas overall review! :P, April 25, 2011

This review is from: Soft Air Famas Tactical Rifle/Red Dot Scope/Silencer/Light, Black (Sports)
The famas definetly has some cons and pros.. mostly pros...... Starting with some cons i would have to say the plastic is quite cheap and i do not recommend lending to your friends (like i did).. the clip fell out many times and ended up breaking... be very carefull with the clip.

Even though the famas has some cons the gun has very very great range and i will tell you now its not all peaches in cream when you get it.. most people i know use the famas as a short range sniper rifle. I find the gun very effective in all kinds of combat ranging from close quarters to long range. the fps is around 370 and range is around 90 feet easily... I find the famas a great great spring rifle and for the price the gun is very very worth it. Also to mention the cock-back release is very easy to pull back.

If you are stuck between buying the famas and a electric rifle i would definitly go with the famas. The famas is a great gun for beginners and amaters. Allthough the gun comes with wonderful attachments I do not recommend using the red-dot scope. mine came with a foregrip that unfortunetly broke but it helps with accuracy.

Over all i would rate this gun (AS A SPRING RIFLE) a easy 9/10... ecspecially if you love to shoot your friends or just target practice. (I recommend using .20 gram bb's) BUY THIS AMAZING GUN!

4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, May 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Soft Air Famas Tactical Rifle/Red Dot Scope/Silencer/Light, Black (Sports)
Just got this gun in the mail about two hours ago and it is simply awesome! I opened it up and put it together fast but was kind of disappointed when I realized it didn't come with a suppresor, but no big deal. When everything was put together I set up some bottles and started shooting, but not hitting, so I fire from the hip and guess what I notice? The bullets are breaking as they leave the barrel! So I finished my sample bullets and used my camo ammo, same problem, doesn't change whether or not it's on hop up (seems to break less on hop up). But I shot my safety glasses and well... this thing packs a punch.

Overall this is an awesome gun, I give it a 3 out of 5 because it didn't come with what's advertised and two, the bullets break in midair. I still would reccomend this cause the bullet problem "seems" to be fixing itself.

>Edit<
Turns out I wasn't thinking, I used cheap ammo for the gun, 4/5!

5.0 out of 5 stars WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW..., April 25, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Soft Air Famas Tactical Rifle/Red Dot Scope/Silencer/Light, Black (Sports)
The gun comes in a box with a styrofoam bottom covered in cellophane. Has instructions, nylon sling, bb feed rod set, batteries, some bb's, screwdriver, screws, hop up cover/cheekplate, foregrip, battery op crosshair scope with adjust, flashlight, barrel shroud, barrel, 40 rnd magazine, and of course the gun.

Gun itself is rather light weight and feels a bit cheap with alot of the weight appearing to come from the magazine. Outside of the barrel shroud and foregrip, all of the other items are pretty much usless for this gun and knowing what I know now, I would not buy this version if I could find the non-tactical one here on amazon for less.

Iron sight on this gun are so so. I found mine to be off a faily consistant 5" NE of actual target at 35'. with .25 bb's. Speaking of bb's, do yourself a favor and buy the .25's right away (was impatient and bought the crossman ones at walmart. 5,000 for 15 bucks). They hit alot harder and fly strighter than the .12 and .2's and still get better distance because they are not floating as much in bizzare directions.

The distance from my shed to the outside porch is roughly 30 yards and I could hit the door handle and surrounding area frequently on a mag load. For a spring airsoft, that is pretty good. I shot further down the fence line and could hit targets about 40 yards away, but it did take quite a few shots each time. Targets were my son's GI joe action figures, so in the gun's defense, those are kinda small targets.

The spring for this gun is great, but the charging handle should have been made out of metal as it doesnt feel like it will take too much rough housing. The barrel attachment is cheap and purely cosmetic. Removing it did not affect my accuracy at all.

So Pros and Cons,

PRO's:
1.Cost. This gun is cheap and probably the only reason I bought it.
2.Shoots way better than I had expected. I was impressed with the distance and power.
3.It's a springer. No batteries, no fuss, just load and play.
These pro's far outway the many con's I am going to list, I just feel people want to know as much as they can about something like this before they buy, so bare with me.

CON's:
1.Magazine's. The price for a 40rnd mag is right on par with a 300rnd hi cap. So unless you want to risk wasting money on modding a hi cap mag, you can spend a small fortune on mags alone.
2.Magazine feed. This seems to be more of an issue with the actual mag than the gun, but the spring inside does not appear strong enough to feed the last 2 rounds. It does not jam, so that is a plus, but I can only see this problem getting worse with time.
3.non-adjustible stock. Yeah, yeah, it's 30 buck's so what am I complaining about. Not a complaint, just something that would have been nice to have for smaller players. My wife has some problems gripping it comfortibly and mentioned she wished it had would adjust for her. Anything that makes her not want to play with my toy's is a con in my book.
4.Trigger guard. It slides left or right with the flip of a finger which is cool, it's just that it feels like it is going to break every time.
5.The sling. Why oh why do they try to even make you think this thing can support a sling. Throw it away before you break something.
6.Hop up. Usually this is a great feature to have. I have only used gas and AEG's up to this point and on my TM M-4, it was awesome. For this Famas, the bb's go up, way up....like someone is holding a vaccum 20 feet above your barrel...waste.
7.Non usable scoope. The scope works fine folks, it's just that putting it on any of the rails raises your elevation so high it can't work. Not needed with this gun.
8.It's a springer...yeah it's great if everyone is shooting the same guns, but you walk onto a field or into a game with AEG's...well just don't do it. It ruins the game for your team.

All and all I am happy with this guns abilities. They make it cheap enough for anyone to buy, and well enough to last awhile with someone who knows how to take care of things. Not to mention it shoot's far. I am buying these for backyard wars and they beat the heck out of nerf guns we paid similar prices for without having to worry about someone not admitting they got hit. They announce it whether they ment to or not cause this sucker pack a sting.

A personal note on targeting, I found that floating the target like a paintball gun was best as opposed to using the iron sights. Meaning I use both eyes to watch my target and bb float through the air to lock in for a hit. Might sound too obvious to even mention when you actually start shooting, but may be helpful to someone.

If I think of anything else I'll post an update.

4.0 out of 5 stars good gun, August 4, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a great gun for the money. I've had this gun for about 4 1/2 months and it still works like new!

PROS:It is very easy to cock, and I can shoot it moderately fast.
#2 It's really accurate.
#3 Has a good feel.
#4 The clip holds 40 bb's. In my opinion, that's alot.

CONS:The Accessories are completely worthless. I wouldn't even try to put them on, unless you usually play at night. other than that ,don't use them.they just add bulk and weight. If you can buy a FAMAS without the accessories, then do so.
#2 The clip fell out once, but that may have been my fault.
#3 The clip release wouldn't push in, but after a couple of games or so It started working perfectly.
#4 Three BB's fall out if you remove the clip when it is not empty.
#5 You have to cock it once or twice upside-down to empty it completly ; but that might be a good thing, because it let's you know when your almost empty.
All of these cons are very minor to me, and I think it's a good buy.
One more con. the gun is made of two sides screwed together and they are starting to come apart beside the the clip but it's nothing a little glue can't fix. Thanks hope this can be a help.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not to shabby, July 20, 2011

I got the gun a month ago and they aren;t joking the shipping is amazing. I used my gun a few times and realized instantly that you must use the bigger heavier bullets or you will ever hit your target. I also noticed that the attatchments are pretty cheap and aside from making it look sweet they don't help at all. That's about all there is to say, it's a great gun!
