5.0 out of 5 stars Wasn't On My To Do List, but...
I almost didn't read this book because of the cover. Sounds horrible, I know, never judge a book by it's cover. But the girl on the cover looked about eleven years old and it didn't seem very interesting. But I read the back, and I thought, maybe I'll read this sometime. So I put it aside, and then one day I picked it up, and started reading, and I didn't stop until I was...

2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Fluffy
There's not much to say about this book. Girl wants to be a famous actress. Famous actor's son moves into town. Of course he falls for her, even though she's self-centered and a complete ditz. They have a fight; they get over the fight. Happily ever after--ta-da!

If you want something to pass the time without getting too involved, feel free to grab this book...

5.0 out of 5 stars Wasn't On My To Do List, but..., June 1, 2006
This review is from: Fame, Glory, and Other Things on My To-Do List (Hardcover)
I almost didn't read this book because of the cover. Sounds horrible, I know, never judge a book by it's cover. But the girl on the cover looked about eleven years old and it didn't seem very interesting. But I read the back, and I thought, maybe I'll read this sometime. So I put it aside, and then one day I picked it up, and started reading, and I didn't stop until I was done.

This is a cute book about a girl named Jessica (who is still in highschool, but NOT eleven years old!) who wants to act. Then a guy named Jordan moves to her town, and... actually, you should read the book.

What I thought when I first picked up the book was that it would be poorly written. On the contrary, I found the writing to be funny, the heroine to be funny and smart. I appreciated everything that happened, and the honest way the author wrote the book.

It was a good read. The only thing that was wrong with it was it's length - I wanted more. :)

So I guess the morale was never to judge a book by it's cover - you may be pleasantly surprised.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Book!, July 16, 2006
By
This review is from: Fame, Glory, and Other Things on My To-Do List (Hardcover)
There is simply no other way to put it-- this book is hilarious. I was lying on my bed reading it and laughing out loud! If you love humor with a touch of everything else this book is perfect. It ends off perfectly. At first I thought the book looked a little babyish, but it was just sooo awesome. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Jessica the Drama Queen, November 18, 2005
This review is from: Fame, Glory, and Other Things on My To-Do List (Hardcover)
Janette Rallison is true to her funny form in this story of Jessica who dreams of Hollywood. When the hunk of her dreams moves to town, she almost screws up their budding romance by divulging his secret: his dad is a famous movie actor.

If you like your humor screwball as I do, you'll like this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Janette Rallison Knows How to Write Drama!!!!, January 28, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Loved it. Janette Rallison really knows how to keep a reader entertained and her brand of humor is so subtle. At times, I had tears in my eyes from laughing. Her protrayal of a high school play gone awry is priceless.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lights, Camera, ACTION!!!, March 8, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Fame, Glory, and Other Things on My To-Do List (Hardcover)
Did you ever think that a good book would start with two identical Honda Civics? I know one that does! Read Janette Rallison's book Fame, Glory, and Other Things on My To-Do List to find out how. It is about a talented, young actress named Jessica. At her school, they are putting on a version of Romeo and Juliet and she is determined to get the lead. When Jessica realizes that a new boy at her school is really the son of the famous actor Christopher Hunter, she gets very excited and comes up with a plan to meet him. This book is an exciting page turner! Pick it up and you won't be able to put it down! So join Jessica, and the rest of the club! Lights, cameras, ACTION!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheery, informative, and wonderful, November 30, 2009
Reason why I loved this one so much was because the main character was an actress, and so am I. I was able to connect to a ton of things throughout the book, and I even learned a bit about acting! `Course, the main character wants to be a screen actor and I have no interest in that. But it focuses mainly on a high-school musical (not the Disney one) production and I have a TON of interest in that. Plus it had the same good feeling that all of Rallison's books produce.

All in all I've discovered that whenever I'm in a reading slump, or just a general slump, I pick up a Rallison. They always make me smile.

Hysterical! Not my most favorite of this author's, but still really fun to read. Lots of laugh-out-loud funny stuff and great characters!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun fun fun!, October 19, 2008
Fame, Glory, and Other Things on My To Do List is an entertaining good time! I am an adult who enjoyed reading it and I would highly recommend it to anyone. If you are a parent, teacher or librarian looking for a book for children or teens that has romance but still is appropriate for kids, this is it.

This review is from: Fame, Glory, and Other Things on My To-Do List (Hardcover)
Someone recommended this author to me and I almost didn't read the book when I got it because of the cover, it looked like it was for very young readers, but it was a great book! I have read almost all of Janette Rallison's books now and I really like them.
