Useful little book for bird identification,
By J. Ocampo (New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Familiar Birds of North America, Western Region (Audubon Society Pocket Guides) (Paperback)
This book features 80 of the more common birds that you'll find in North America. There is a nice color photo of every bird, as well as a map that shows where the bird lives.
The authors of the book also devoted a full paragraph to describing some interesting facts about each bird. There is also a detailed description of each bird's appearance, voice, and habitat. A written description of each bird's range helps supplement the maps. This is a great book for beginning bird watchers, or anyone who enjoys the outdoors.

Too small to be very useful - one picture of each bird does not give enough points to accurately identify the species, at least for a novice. Limited entries, most birds in my backyard are not in the book.
