A+ for the Classroom!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Families of Russia (Families of the World) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I've been using this video as part of a school-wide cultural unit on Russia. I've used it with 1st through 5th grade students and it works at all levels. It's great for the classroom-- it's broken into two 15-minute segments, each of which takes you through a typical day in the life of a Russian child (one girl, one boy, one lives in a city, the other in the country). My students find it fascinating, and it generates a lot of discussion (they love to compare and contrast their lives to the lives of the children on the video). Highly recommended!

My children (ages 5 and 10) and I have watched this delightful 30 minute video several times already. It depicts a typical day in the life of two Russian children, dubbed in English. We loved seeing what the children ate and drank, preparing to go to school, what their homes and families were like, etc. It is very entertaining and had a few funny surprises which I won't spoil here! It makes me curious about the other countries in the series. I would love to ask our school's PTA to purchase the entire series!
