4.0 out of 5 stars Great for Children
We are in the process of adopting from Vietnam and have been trying to find any and all info we can. This video I think will be especially helpful for our child when they about 6 or 7.

2.0 out of 5 stars Do Not Buy!!!!!!!!!
The dvd was professionally done. Unfortunately, I don't think that it depicted the reality of families in Vietnam. The producers portrayed the typical "city" family lifestyle as one of luxury. It's difficult to believe that the average "city" family in a Third World Country drives a new sedan and and has a housemaid. Oh, I also forgot the grand piano.

The filming of the "country" family was well done (too well done). The family scenes were idealic and serene. I think that the producers wore their rose-colored glasses when they were filming this. It made life in the country seem like a vacation.

I'm not sure what audience this dvd was trying to target but for those who want realism, I would recommend something else.

My husband and I are in the process of adopting a baby from Vietnam. We bought this movie as a tool for sharing Vietnamese culture with our child as he/she grows older. This movie tells the stories of a "city" family and a "country" family in Vietnam from the perspective of the daughter of each family. While the movie is shorter than I thought it would be for the price, I am very satisfied with it for our purposes. It will definitely be a movie that we show our child.

Good information on life in rural and urban Vietnam. We enjoyed it, as well as our son.
