3.0 out of 5 stars IT'S NOT HIS BEST BUT IT'S GOOD
TO ME ALBUM IS GOOD BUT IT'S NOT HEZ, THIS PROJECT IS NOT LIKE NEW YORK, OR ATLANTA AND NOT EVEN CLOSE TO TORONTO. HE JUST CHANGE HIS STYLE FOR THIS ALBUM AND I HAD TO GET USED TO IT DON'T GET ME WRONG HEZ IS THE MAN BUT THIS ALBUM IS A DISAPPOINTMENT TO ME. BUT POWER BELONGS TO GOD IS THE JAM NOW THAT IS A HEZEKIAH WALKER STYLE RIGHT THERE.

Well saints it's Tuesday, November 9th Hezekiah Walker's new album "Family Affair" is in stores. Privileged Love Fellowship fans like me have had their albums from one day to a week and a half before. After listening to this album I know that this is Walker's best album yet! Reminiscent to his prior "Live In Atlanta" & "Live In New York" albums, this album has some of our favorite Love Fellowship soloists along with some hot new voices. The hottest song on the album in my opinion is the first track "Power Belongs To God" a psalm-like song of celebration which is a standard Hezekiah Walker first track and it will have you jammin!. Another of the best songs is "Wonderful Is Your Name" also good for a first track features the immense talents of the Love Fellowship Band. Other standouts are "The Will Of God", a Monique Walker solo, "Never Leave Me Alone" a Kirvy Brown solo "Patienty Waiting" from Walker's newest choir the Love Fellowship Celebration Choir. This song is really upbeat and you definately will jam! "I've Got A Reason" an O'Landa Draper song covered by Walker's already recorded LFT Church Choir in his memory. There's also "Oh I Feel Jesus" the song by Walker's group of soloists Love Unlimited and it features Donald Lawrence. This song showcases Love Fellowship's versatility. Along with the songs aformentioned; Walker & Love Fellowship also did five songs in the studio, four with Gospel producer J. Moss, one produced by Teddy Riley and features his R&B group Blackstreet. The best of these are "Let's Dance" featuring Dave Hollister this one is an urban masterpiece. "He Can", a Monique Walker, Kirvy Brown duet. You know that's good! Lastly there is "Finally" which features Blackstreet, this song is excellent. To hear Teddy Riley and Hezekiah Walker sing is almost divine! You gotta get this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars PASTOR WALKER & LFCC.....BACK ON TOP, January 29, 2000

PINK ROYAL "Pink Royal" (Philadelphia, PA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Family Affair (Audio CD)
Pastor Walker has done it again! This time he took out all of the "big guns"! All of the songs...ALL OF THEM are very well put together. I am not pulling your leg. I don't know what the other people heard, but I know what I heard and what I heard was more than I EVER expected! BASS DRIVEN, DRUM-HEAVY, HARDCORE "HEZ TUNES"! POWER BELONGS TO GOD is a favorite, as well as WILL OF GOD, AINT NOBODY, NEVER LEAVE ME ALONE with Min Kirvy Brown and WONDERFUL IS YOUR NAME! The studio stuff is very nice too. I really enjoyed, MORE LIKE HIM, LET'S DANCE, and GIVE HIM YOUR LIFE and HE CAN! And the debut of LOVE UNLIMITED and THE CELEBRATION CHOIR were EXCELLENT! MUCH LOVE TO THE TABERNACLE CHOIR and their tribute to O'LANDA DRAPER, "I GOTTA REASON"...this song makes me wanna run! THE CD IS A MUST, you can FEEL the presence of the LORD all through the recording! LFCC FOREVER!

5.0 out of 5 stars A True "Family Affair"......, January 22, 2000

For All Of You that have'nt heard this CD it IS THE BOMB! I will give you the easy review....

"Power Belongs To God": This song is tight, The Crusade Choir rocked this joint. They are simply saying don't fear anything, for power belongs to God. The beat is tight.

"Ain't Nobody Like God": This is okay I enjoyed the message.

"The Will Of God": This song is a TRUE sermonette in its self. Mrs. Walker really outdid herself.PLEASE if you heard this go and hear her sing it LIVE, it is a true blessing.

"Never Leave Me Alone": Kirvy really torn this up, the choir is mainly singing in it, but Kirvy add some tight ab-libs.

And to conclude this review because I don't wanna give ya'll all of it.....

"Finally": Blackstreet, Love Unlimited(The New Group from Hez' Church), and LCC torn it up. This song has an R&B Twist and still gives the message clearly that "It is time to stop playin God and give him Praise for all he has done for us".

PLEASE get Hez' new joint it is the bomb, and if your ever in Brooklyn, NY Please stop by the Love Fellowship Tabernacle with Pastor Hezekiah Walker, If ya'll think he is good as a singer, U MUST hear his Preaching. A true holy ghost party!

As usual, Hez delivers the P&W that made LFC Choir known around the world. While this work reflects the influences of our hip hop culture, Hex masterfully fuses it with traditional vibes to influence gospel music lovers young and old. LFC is not about heavy bass riffs; but the compilations will break the heart of any sinner, and encourage the lowest of saints. So next step, add this one to your collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars Still One of the Best, March 11, 2000
This review is from: Family Affair (Audio CD)
Hezekiah Walker and the LFCC are still one of the best choirs in the world. He cannot continue to re-invent himself with each new CD. Family Affair is a good CD. Power Belongs to God and Wonderful Is Your Name are the hand-clapping songs that make me want to sing. I am a middle aged woman, and I also found the hip-hop enjoyable. Isn't it really about the ministry and not about who is delivering the song? Let's not quibble about the type of music and artist. Let's pray that with each song, there is a message for someone who makes a decision to come to the Lord. Keep up the good work Hez, I love you, and continue to use your God-given talent.

What else can I say? This man of God has taken it to another level. The album as a varity of music on it. From the fast paced track "Power belongs to God", to the soothing ballad "Oh, I feel JESUS," this album is for everyone!
