About the Author
Laurie Pickard has been contributing to the field of psychotherapy and psychoeducation since 1984, the year she received her masters degree in community counseling.As a current resident of Arizona, Laurie is State certified with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as a Certified Professional Counselor. Laurie is also nationally certified with the National Board of Certified Counselors, for which she is a Nationally Certified Counselor, as well as having an additional specialty with the National Board as a Masters Addiction Counselor. In addition, she is a Certified Diplomate of the American Psychotherapy Association.
In 1986, Laurie entered into supervisory training with government, private, and public sectors of Florida business. A significant proportion of her clinical work was centered on individuals (both management and non-management) seeking guidance for work-related concerns. Laurie's shift in focus, with emphasis being given to the family-run business, was a natural evolution. She has been personally connected to the world of family-run business from childhood through her adult years.From her personal and professional experiences, a philosophy and methodology was born.
As the Director of Family Business Lifestylings, L.L.C., Laurie is dedicated through her writings, seminars, and consulting, to guiding family-run businesses in exploring alternative and healthy ways of working together.
