5.0 out of 5 stars the last book of the "Vows" miniseries, January 17, 2004
By
This review is from: A Family to Call Her Own (Vows Series #3) (Love Inspired #25) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was very touching. A story about a woman named Rebecca Matthews and a man named Zach Wright. Irene Hannon brings them both together on a lonely foggy night. Rebecca rescues Zach from harm and takes him to the hospital. She leaves before he has time to find out her name or phone number. He does find her and they meet again at a diner. Slowly, they become friends and a little more. Rebecca doesn't believe that she'll ever get married or find a family of her own... until Zach... Will a secret from her past keep her following her destiny to the man of her dreams or will it ultimately tear them apart? Read this book to find out! It was one of my favorites, and I hope it will be yours too. *please note: if you haven't read "Home for the Holidays" and "A Groom of Her Own", read those first and then this one or else you'll spoil the miniseries for yourself! =( **

5.0 out of 5 stars My Prince Charming!, June 26, 2011

This review is from: A Family to Call Her Own (Vows Series #3) (Love Inspired #25) (Mass Market Paperback)
Rebecca Matthews has major issues with intimacy. She "freaks out" anytime a man tries to touch or kiss her, and no man has been able to stand her issues. She is destined to believe that she will never marry. There is no man who would ever be able to break through her fears...

Then we have Prince Charming. Prince charming does not ride in on a white horse and rescue Rebecca from the claws of the dragon. No...Prince charming rides in foolishly through fog and gains a concussion, one that Rebecca must save HIM from!!!

I cannot say enough about this book. It was WONDERFUL! I have absolutely no complaints about this book, except that I did cry...A LOT!!! The secondary story in this one was as heart-wrenching, if not more, than then main story. Josef and Isabelle's story was wonderful. I cried so hard a the tragedy that family had to face!!!

I'm convinced that no man would be so patient as to wait for Rebecca's issues to resolve. He is definitely one of a kind, an imagined image of what all us women with issues would love our Prince charming to be like. But it was so nice reading what a perfect man this Zach was...

And he gave up EVERYTHING for his princess. Just read the book and see all that he gave up...

This is the last in the series about these wonderful characters. I know I had some issues with the first two stories written, but none with this one. (SIGH) It was just a heavenlly story...A bit emotional at times, but WONDERFUL!!!

I also give kudos to the author for admitting that the marriage bed did not happen right away. Like everything else, it too came slowly. I'm sure there were many nights that Zach went to sleep frustrated that his needs hadn't bee fulfilled, but in the end she came around. The way the book ended was PERFECT!!!
