This review is from: Family Circle All-Time Favorite Recipes (Hardcover)
I bought this book mainly because of the fabulous price at my local bookstore. When I got home and began to read it I was thrilled with the selections the editors of this trusted magazine made. I know that each of these recipes has been tested many times, and then taste tested through a picky panel of even more editors. So when they decided to choose their all time favorites, they have to be exceptional right? Yes, I have made several of these recipes and my favorite so far is Bow-tie Broccoli and Artichokes. We were living overseas and it was no problem to find the ingredients for this recipe in Malaysia. My guests loved it and now I keep the ingredients for this on hand for a sensational last minute dish for guests or pot-lucks. I can make it in less than 15 minutes.
I love recipes that use everyday pantry items and come together with minimal fuss, but get extraordinary reviews from my family.
A brief list of recipes I thought were great are:
Sticky wings
Tandoori chicken legs
Yeast corn rolls
Banana ginger cookies
Mustard-horseradish potato salad
Moroccan chicken stew
The quality of the book is nice, there are lovely color photographs of some (not all) of the recipes. I appreciate the editor's introduction of each recipe, nutritional info, and prep times too.
