The Family Creative Workshop, May 28, 2000
This review is from: The Family Creative Workshop (24-volume set) (Hardcover)
This is a set of 23 books and an index when complete. They are wonderful! If you are a creative person or ever wanted to be this is for you. They cover every craft known to this world from acrylics to the art of toy making. If you are a person who loves the enviroment these books are eviromental friendly with lots of hands on projects for the kids. As an educator of k-12 I use these at every level. I even used them myself with art projects in college. I never will run out of ideas. Many artist of the time are also featured in these books. This is a must have for artist, hippies, teacher (exspecillay art teachers) and any person who is creative or wants to be.

Simply put, this is by far the best series of books ever done (and beautiful) on the entire subject of crafts. Like me, I'm sure you will constantly be delighted and enthralled by the incredible and diverse number of topics covered. This is a series to be treasured and passed from generation to generation.

A classic blast from the past, June 15, 2009
This review is from: The Family Creative Workshop (24-volume set) (Hardcover)
I remember these books from when I was a kid. They turned me on to crafts, to curiosity, to the creative process, to the artistic process, to history, to a certain level of self-reliance and risk-taking. I absolutely love this series. The pictures are kind of funny now, in a time-warp way, but the skills to be learned are invaluable. I want these books for my daughter (and her eventual kids) as much as I want them for myself.
A few years ago, I tried to buy the entire set from Amazon, and all things pointed toward me getting just that. But I wound up with just one random volume. I still want the entire set!
So there's a caveat. Make sure you're getting the volumes you want before you commit.
If I felt secure in believing that I really would receive the entire set, I'd click "Buy" right now.
Upshot: the books are terrif, but make sure you're getting what you want.
