is his best Jeff Golub (How ya like me now), Mike Stern (I will be with you), Paul Jackson Jr. (uptown), Ronnie Jordan (gas lamp groove), George Benson (seduction), Chris Standring (funkology) interpretations. Then he puts his own original spin in composition with sax, flute,keyboards and head bobbin melodies. Includes oustanding session musicians including: Shilts (Down To The Bone), David Mann, Stix Bones, Benjie Porecki, Kevin Flournoy, Carl Carter, Chris Marshak, Hans Z and Carl Burnett. Marshak leaves no doubt that the guitar is the lead but allows contributors the equal opportunity to funk. Family Funktion is organic and by far Marshak's best effort to date, cd baby has previews to check out before you buy.

I saw Matt by chance at Spaghettini in Orange County. He was amazing in person so I decided to try an album. It is great. When ever I get sick of the radio, I listen to this CD and it makes me a peaceful person. I'm considering buying another copy as a gift for my grandparents. Anyone who appreciates Jazz will enjoy this CD.

Matt came through my area and I was lucky enough to catch him play live.
He is a very fluid guitar player, sliding and slaming each note like Peter Frampton
(If Frampton played Jazz) If you like George Benson, Norman Brown or Jeff Golub
you will enjoy his talents.
