I bought this for an intelligent 15-year old relative. He tried and tried to open it for quite a while, and after he struggled long enough (without getting frustrated), several clues helped him figure it out how to open it.
Don't think it's just for teenagers, though. My thirty-something brother-in-law had the same experience the previous year.
This box definitely adds to any gift exchange where cash/check is involved.

Not as fun as some other money mazes I've used. Even with multiple correct attempts it tended to stick. I almost didn't get the money into it before the party because it would not open right.
