5.0 out of 5 stars Revenge is mine.
Don't Break the Bottle, wine caddy edition is a wonderfully polished and challenging way to give a gift of vino. This year I gave a bottle of Christmas wine to my mother. After the delight of opening the present wore off the realization dawned that there was a bit more work to be done to get at the bottle. Now even a few days after Christmas I still call to ask if she...

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice But.....
This is a good idea but what you cant really tell from the pictures is that the only puzzle part of the contraption (for lack of a better word) is the string with the rings. I thought the whole thing was a puzzle like the old iron ones I used to have. Good idea but if you want something that will really puzzle them I would go for a different model. On the plus side it...

Now even a few days after Christmas I still call to ask if she is enjoying a glass of her wine yet. The puzzle is rather simple but with a complexity that is just right for general gift giving. The caddy looks great, is sturdy and makes a excellent display for your favorite bottle. The caddy holds regular bottles of wine but if there is too much variation on the shape of the bottle it may not fit. While shopping I recommend taking the caddy with you if you are looking at different shapes and sizes of bottles to be sure it fits. Also if you want to put in something of a non-alcoholic variety many types of sparkling juice would fit as well. The directions on how to put the puzzle together as well as how to solve it are not very straight forward. But take your time, have fun, and don't break the bottle.

On the plus side it looked really nice when we brought it to dinner and put it on the table and the perplexed look on our friends faces were great!

This is not a children's toy, obviously. It does, however, make a great gift with a nice bottle of wine to any puzzle-loving adult in your life. I bought it for my sister who found it a bit of a challenge to get the bottle out, but liked that she wasn't able to solve it easily either. It provided just enough challenge, then we enjoyed the newly freed wine. She has it displayed by her wine area and everyone needs to try it out when they come over for dinner. A good conversation piece!

I purchased this as a gift, and it was great. Not only does it look great, but it's mind boggleing to open.
Just be sure you open the contraption before having some wine, or you or your guests may resort to scissors!

I think this is a very clever gaget! While it took me 4 attempts and a lot of talking to myself, I finally got the wine locked in! Since this was a Christmas gift I wanted to put it back in the box. If the box were just a little taller it would have been so much easier to do this!! My son-in-law thought it was hystrical! I hid the instructions and I don't know if he got it opened.
I think it is attractive and a nice way to display wine.

Want to have a little fun with your guests before you give them alcohol? This is a perfect gift, or conversational piece at a party. It's not impossible, but def makes one work to get the wine bottle out to drink.

It's an attractive piece, but that's about it. It's basically an expensive wine caddy in which you can "dress up" a bottle of wine with. I bought a bottle of grenache called B* (oh you know exactly what word I mean) and playfully signed the card "It's a B* to open." In reality it's not. It's fairly easy to tangle and untangle.

I gave these puzzles as Christmas presents and my family enjoyed them. The instructions for assembling the puzzle can be hard to follow though.

This gift for my brother at Christmas got more attention than any others. My sister and I hid upstairs for a good 20 minutes trying to get it together, which for us was fun. "No, that doesn't look like the box. Let me try." "Maybe the German instructions make more sense" (neither of us read German).

Our time was well-spent: my brother and his girlfriend admired the appearance, loved the caddy, until my brother became suspicious and announced "I think it's locked in". As my sister and I sat smug, several people gave it a try, and we heard a resounding chorus of "I know some people who absolutely must have this."

Not only is this fun, the directions were easy to follow, and you can use it as a centerpiece on a table!
