Family Guy: Back To The Multiverse players will get to play as Stewie and Brian in an adventure that pits them against Stewie's evil twin, Bertram. Inspired by one of the most popular episodes of Seth MacFarlane's animated sitcom, 'Road to the Multiverse', Back To The Multiverse "turns the outrageous world of Family Guy into an action-packed video game filled with nods to the long-running comedy", and features both co-operative and competitive multiplayer modes. Players will get to play as sophisticated one-year old Stewie or family dog Brian as they prevent Bertram from destroying Quahog, each with their own unique skills and abilities.

3.0 out of 5 stars For the Die Hard Fan Only November 29, 2012
Platform for Display:PlayStation 3
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
When it comes to the television show Family Guy, some of the best episodes out there are the ones in which Brian and Stewie travel together and actually don't feature the rest of the cast. One of the better episodes was an episode in which Brian and Stewie traveled through the Multiverse. Apparently the creators know how popular the episode is because they made a video game that was a sequel to it. Back to Multiverse can be considered fan service in just about every respect. If you really love the show and its humor you'll really love this game to a certain extent. And while it's packed full of references it's hard to say this is a game worth forking over sixty dollars for. If anything it would've easily sufficed as a downloadable game on PSN or XBOX Live Arcade. There isn't really enough content to justify the price tag (though it's sure to go down eventually).

Back to the Multiverse begins in typical Family Guy fashion. It's as though you're playing through an actual episode of the show. It plays the opening of the show--credits and all--as though this really is going to be a typical episode. It then shows Brian and Stewie. Their banter is quickly interrupted when Bertrum shows up from a different universe. He wants revenge on Stewie and is about the travel the multiverse to amass an army. It's up to Stewie and Brian to stop him by following him through the multiverse. As far as Family Guy goes, the actual synopsis for this episode is definitely pretty cool. And it's got some great humor in many respects. The cutscenes themselves are full of some nice witty banter between Brian and Stewie but once you get into the actual game only your fan devotion is likely to hold you.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you love Family Guy, you'll love this game January 3, 2013
Platform for Display:PlayStation 3|Verified Purchase
This game is very funny and very true to what Family Guy is about. The animation is very good and nearly spot on to the television show.

The game controls are easy to get used to and the story mode isn't all that hard. You can also play the story mode in 2 player cooperative. There is also an online multiplayer with many customizable settings.

5.0 out of 5 stars So addictive July 2, 2013

I popped this game in for the first time and played it for hours. It is a stupid game but it's so fun. I'm not the serious gamer but I do enjoy setting down and indulging myself from time to time and I love this game for that purpose. Very satisfied.

Really not worth 60$, but is fun to play here and there. Doesn't really have much to pull you into it. One of those games you can pop in and play for an hour, stop playing and come back to it in a few days. If your a family guy fan.. It should make you laugh here and there too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Funny Game, I'm shocked it's from activision. November 21, 2012
Platform for Display:PlayStation 3
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
activision to me is like a jockey in high school, always trying to be cool and would do anything for popularity. so basically my metaphor is that activision have been doing call of duty games for a while now. where they still believe those games are cool, they come around with family guy game filled with jokes and sex humor which is pretty awesome, the things you expect from the family guy show. some people are having troubles understanding that this is a 60 dollar game at the moment, and would probably go down in price eventually. to me I've been having so much fun, and actually laughing and enjoying my time with this game that i don't even care i spent 60 dollars on this game. only problem is no online multiplayer because this game deserves one, but the campaign is fun and you have side missions where you can verse against the AI. I really don't feel guilty about buying this game, actually i really love it.
i give this a B+

Update: i have been taking my time with this i've spent like 6 hours so far and i'm not even done, but this is only if you collect the items in the games and explore the world. i've heard that people finished the game in like 6 hours and i'm not even down yet.if you are a complitionist you're going to want to unlock the costume, the guns, and complete the trophies. if you have a friend co-op could be very satisfying. if you're playing solo you can play the local multiplayer but like with bots similar to black ops 2 if you want to play with bots soldiers, it's really best to play co-op with a friend. what i can say and i still stand by it, is that i'm having fun with it. This game will probably be an easy trophy achiever because you'll want to dive in over and over with this game.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun but not all that. February 12, 2014
By Ian G.
Platform for Display:PlayStation 3|Verified Purchase
Ok Family Guy Back to the Multiverse isn't the worst game out there, but it certainly isn't the best either. Basically you play as either Stewie or Brian jumping through the multiverse to stop Bert..(whats his face). Its a pretty straight forward platform type game, a few "side" quests to do per level to unlock scenes from past episodes. However, if you already own a netflix account, hulu plus, or just happen to have the Family Guy series on DVD then you have already seen all of the unlockable episode scenes. It doesn't look like a family guy episode so don't go expecting that either. I would say the best aspects of the game are the PvP and coop modes. All in all I bought this game at the same time as I bought Skyrim, I knew I would get stuck on Skyrim so I played this first. I Played it for a total of six hours and had fun but was finding the levels to get very repetitive and tiring. Since then I have only loaded the game one other time and that was when I had company over and they wanted to play something fun. If your considering buying this there are three questions you need to ask yourself, first are you a die hard Family guy fan? (if so then get it you'll love it, if not, then maybe consider something else.) Secondly, will you be playing alone or with friends/ loved ones? (If you will be playing with others then get it, its a fun game to play with people, if your going to be playing solo maybe not the best choice.) Thirdly, are you a serious person? ( I doubt you are, your looking at a Family Guy game, but if you are more serious then I doubt you'll enjoy the low brow humor presented here, if your not a very serious person then you'll probably find this game to be to your liking.)
