A super seder!,
By "karben" (Denver) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Family Haggadah (Paperback)
The most user-friendly haggadah around. Perfect for seders with young and old, Jewish and non Jewish participants. Plenty of provocative discussion questions to make each seder different. We had enthusiastic participation from the kids and adults and can't wait to use it again.

Includes good readings for children,
This review is from: A Family Haggadah (Paperback)
A RIGHT TO LEFT version Haggadah. In green, red and black text. Includes mostly English readings and translations with some Hebrew for the most well known paragraphs (Avadim Hayeenu, blessings), and English transliterations for blessings. The English in non-sexist (gender neutral) and within the grasp of school age children. Certain passages are tagged with icons to note "songs", "plan ahead activities", and "for young children." It opens with a Seder checklist to make sure you have all the items for a good seder. The seder text follows. The Four Sons are Four CHILDREN. Children are prompted to tell the table how they would explain Passover to each of the four children. Dayenu is abbreviated and in English. Includes English Grace After Meals, Counting of the Omer, and an abbreviated Hallel. Includes Adir Hu, Echad Mi Yodea, Chad Gadya, A Fifth Cup for Israel, and Hatikva. Most of the readings are in English.

For the Best Seder Ever!!,
By
This review is from: A Family Haggadah (Paperback)
This Haggadah was so perfect for everyone in our very diverse congregation. It contains all the traditional elements, but allows those who don't understand the Hebrew, not only to follow along, but to understand and to participate. We had so much fun, and almost everyone said it was the best Seder they had ever attended.

We used A Family Haggadah at the last Passover Seder. The children found it easy to follow and understand. The adults liked the special commentaries and additional information. Everyone said it helped make the Seder special.

This is a very well organized and graphically outstanding version of the Passover seder. A standout among the dozens available. Perfect for first-timers as well as regulars.

Gets a hecsher from me!,

This review is from: A Family Haggadah (Paperback)
This is the 3rd year we've used this haggadah--we decided to invest in enough for the whole table. It's great because it's got clearly written Hebrew, English and transliteration. It's simple, with good questions and comments in the sidebars to spark some additional conversation. Your seder can be simple and straightforward, or more thought-provoking using this haggadah. I also like the CD of Passover songs that is available to go with this. We had fun singing along while preparing our Pesach meal! If the illustrations were better, I'd give it 5 stars.

This haggadah made our seder very enjoyable. It is excellent for families with young children, as well as those with both Jews and non-Jews celebrating.

Family Seder for all ages,
This review is from: A Family Haggadah (Paperback)
This Haggadah has been used in our family for over 10 years and is appropriate for the traditional members, the less indoctrinated, and the children. There are activities to include the youngest members and questions to involve the sophisticated participants. The participation in a Seder is for everyone, and this Haggadah is inclusive of all!

Great Haggadah...,

We've been using this haggadah for 5+ years, and just love it. I see there is a new version, so I will be checking that out, but might just buy up a few of the old ones that are left. It is great with the kids, and good for long time jews, new jews, and non-jews... my kids love hopping around the floor during the frog song. And of course, racing through "Who knows one?".
