Where is Buddy's voice?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Two Family House (Score) (Audio CD)
I hate when soundtracks are not true to the actual movie. Neither Perry Como's version of Papa Loves Mambo nor Tony Martin's recording of There's No Tomorrow was used in the movie. Why would the soundtrack not use the voice of the main character, who, after all, was supposed to be a singer who was discovered by Arthur Godfrey?

Sweet Nostalgia,
By David M. Parker (Mill Valley, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Two Family House (Score) (Audio CD)
I saw this movie at the Mill Valley film festival and was blown away by the soundtrack. We were lucky to have the writer/director and lead actors on hand for a discussion. The soundtrack paints a portrait of romance on Staten Island in the 1950's. If you liked the soundtrack from the movie Big Night, you will love this one also. Don't miss the movie, I predict it will be a breakthrough for the writer/director and cast as well.

two family house cd,

I can't quit listening to this cd. It is wonderful, so is the movie. It brings back memories of my childhood, with my Italian
dad and listening to this kind of music!

"good Italian selections set in the '50s",

Director/Screenwriter Raymond de Felitta shares the trying times with his audience, of a wanna be singer/entertainer Buddy Visalo (Michael Rispoli) who really never stops dreaming of success...down the road buys a two-story house to rent out the second floor, thus the story begins...he never stops believing in his music is the central-theme...and the tracks on this CD prove it.John Pizzarelli and his Trio ~ John (guitar/vocals), Ray Kennedy (piano) and Martin Pizzarelli (bass) are the highlights...but Stephen Endelman's score is enchanting, as is the performances by "Two Family House Ensemble"...a touch of Italy prevails! So spin this CD...sit back...and listen to a very entertaining piece of nostalgia...a little jazz, big band, classical and traditional Italy ~ O SOLE MIO! Total Time: 40:52 on 18 Tracks ~ RCA Victor 09026-63733-2 ~ (2000) |
