Book Description

Harlequin American Romance June 1, 2001
No longer just a crush...

It was Grace North's birthday and the best gift she could've gotten was...Kyle McRaney? Okay, so it wasn't what she'd asked for -- at least not out loud -- yet the man she had once considered her special hero was standing in her kitchen, ready to be her personal chef for the next three months. And the appearance of his precocious daughter only made Grace long for what might've been....

Kyle had always treated Grace with something akin to brotherly love, but now there was no mistaking the heat that sizzled between them. After all, Grace had gone from awkward teenager to the sexiest woman he'd ever met. Could he convince this beauty to take another chance on her knight in shining armor...and his ready-made family?

Harlequin American Romance #880, June, 2001.

This review is from: Family: The Secret Ingredient (Harlequin American Romance) (Paperback)
Blue blood Grace North had always dreamed of wrong-side of the tracks Kyle McRaney. As a 17 year old she thought Kyle was going to elope with her. Intead Kyle left town with Libby to forge a new live in Chicago. Now 7 years later Kyle is back, a widower with a 3 year-old and a special talent for cooking. For the next 3 months Kyle is Grace's personal chef, a gift from Kyle friend and Grace's brother, Michael. Kyle and Michael are working to reopen an old resturant. As you can imagine Kyle and Grace dance around their attraction to each other. Old feelings, haunts, and events surround their story. As the store unfolds these situations and feelings are brought forth and shown how they relate to the people today. In the end Kyle and Grace realize their feelings for each other. Kyle recognizes the woman Grace has become and Grace sees beyond her teenage crush to the man Kyle is now. While overall the story was a good one I never got the feeling Kyle and Grace connected. Some stories you can feel the connection and that was missing in this story.
