Sweet Story,

This review is from: Family for Keeps (Love Inspired #183) (Mass Market Paperback)
For the most part, I really liked this book. There were a couple places in here where I got sort of turned off, which is why I gave it four stars instead of five. For instance, when Tess confessed her past to Mac, it seemed it just abruptly ended. This was a really deep turmoil for her, and it shouldn't have ended that way...The conversation shifted quickly from heart-wrenching to light-hearted...
Also, the conclusion just didn't get me...The issues seemed to be dealt with too easily. I don't know, I was just a bit disappointed in it. But this is a really sweet story and real worth the read.

A Clown Should Never Have to Cry,
By
This review is from: Family for Keeps (Love Inspired #183) (Mass Market Paperback)
Twenty-eight-year-old pediatric nurse Tess Morgan sometimes dresses as a clown to add a little cheer into the lives of the sick children in the hospital. And, truth be told, she could use a little cheering up in her own life as well. Ever since her fiancé had been murdered, she'd been sort of adrift, her faith kind of lost. Now she lives her life for the children and one in particular has caught her heart, a boy named Johnny who is very ill. Johnny is a ward of the state and has been shuffled from one foster home to another.
Thirty-four year-old Peter "Mac" MacPherson comes into the hospital to get the cast taken off the leg he broke when he fell from the roof of a half way house he'd been helping out at. He catches Tess crying in her clown outfit and is captured by her eyes. Later he learns about Johnny and when he meets the boy he takes an immediate shine to him. Like Tess, he has suffered his share of personal tragedy, having lost his wife and father, so now he is raising his young daughter, Amy, without a mother. During the course of the story Mac becomes so taken with little Johnny, that he adopts him, but can he guide Tess back to the faith she lost when she lost her fiancé? And will they get together and live happily ever after? I really liked this inspirational romance. Actually I've liked most of the ones in the Steeple Hill catalog that I've read. That must be why I keep coming back to them. "Family for Keeps" is a super story, one that touched my heart and I'm sure it will touch yours as well.

Heartwarming Contemporary Romance,
By Christine H. "soblessed" (,OH,U.S.A.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Family for Keeps (Love Inspired #183) (Mass Market Paperback)
Family For Keeps grabbed me from the first sentence "Lady,it worries me when I see a clown cry",and it didn't let go until I had finished the book!
I really enjoyed this modern day romance with a nurse and a retired football player, and also the side story of the boy in the foster care system. Excellent character development makes you really care about the characters. Historical Romance is usually my choice over contemporary, but I thought this one sounded good, and I was not disappointed,as it was wonderful! This one will touch your heart for sure. |
