Great new brides gift August 8, 2003
By Mary
I am putting together the third book for a bridal shower gift. It's a great gift if you are a close family member or close friend. For all three showers I sent out cards and pages from the book in advance. Grandmoms, aunts, cousins, moms and even fathers and uncles were eager to share recipes and stories. Even if you just give a blank book to the bride, it's a great gift. My nieces gave cards from their albums out to collect recipes they want long after their weddings. For my son's wedding I've already started putting together some of the recipes he will want his wife to know and the wedding is a year away. One of the best features is the sheet protectors to enclose some of those old handwritten recipes. I was able to include some from a great grandmother who died years ago. What a treasure!

I recently bought this from a discount salesperson for approximately $15, but I probably would have paid full price if I had seen it beforehand.
The 3-ring folder is printed in beautiful italic calligraphy. Each tabbed section contains a plain page (also printed in calligraphy with lovely spiraly/floral decorations) for writing text. This is nice for noting special cooking reminders--something longer than would fit on an index card--and for hints that don't really go on a recipe card. There are also plastic inserts for photos or newspaper collections in each section. Finally, there is a pocket in each section for putting in index cards with recipes on them. The index cards are also decorated in the same motif. The only thing I don't like about the set is that the recipe cards are larger than the normal ones. This is great as long as you intend to use this notebook to keep them in, but don't appeal to my sense of order.

Extremely useful February 24, 2006

I got this for my wife, who had asked for a place to keep recipes. This is a great storage solution, because it allows so many different formats: clippings, printouts, the included cards and full-page recipe sheets, anything.

I'm not a huge fan of the cover; I would have liked the book even better with less ornate stuff on the cover. But it's the kind of thing one can excuse, given the high quality of the overall product. It's much more useful than competing products, as far as I can tell.

Great Buy!
This cookbook is well worth the money. It has plenty of room for writing out recipes. The only thing I wish it had come with more of were the recipe cards. Read more

Family Recipe Collection Book
I ordered this twice and had to return both times for the same reason: the top binder ring did not shut properly and the pages would fall out or get caught up in it easily. Read more

beautiful
This is a lovely recipe holder. As others have said, there aren't enough pages, but I plan to scan the blank ones and add them, so it isn't really a problem. Read more

The book is very nice and colorful, however completely useless for those of us who would like to print recipes off the computer and add them to our cookbooks. Read more
