I totally enjoyed this, and am glad that it appears that you will be having more in the future. I so enjoy the sassiness and interaction of the main characters. I don't mind the sexual play between Michael and Valerie (they DO have a history after all, so it isn't as if they just met and are jumping each other). The mayhem was controlled so that the faint of heart wouldn't take offense, but the folks who like that kind of action will be satisfied.

As an author, I often get the opportunity to present at book festivals and writers workshops. When fellow authors ask me who I like to read, I always respond "Rod Pennington." When asked why, the answer is easy. I always learn something from his books. Pennington is the unchallenged King of Dialogue. After reading one of his books, the reader will understand why Hollywood brass calls on him so often to "fix" scripts. RP's latest, A Family Reunion, will not disappoint his loyal readers. Writers pay attention to the dialogue and pacing. Pennington calls AFR "bawdy." I call it a fun read. This is going to be a great series!

When I picked up A Family Reunion I was expecting a straight-ahead crime thriller. It was that... but it was so much more. This was a fun, action packed, romance laden, intrigue laced thriller that prevented me from putting it down! I read it in one sitting - I couldn't stop reading, I wanted to know what was going to happen next.

Rod Pennington has a gift for creating characters that you want to root for. Charon is a tough-as-nails character that knows the meaning of honor and loyalty. He knows how to "take on for the team" and put the greater good ahead of his own wants. I loved it. When Valerie appears and reenters Michael's life, it gives you just enough of a romantic slant to keep you on your toes.

I highly recommend A Family Reunion to anyone who loves drama, intrigue, James Bond type thrillers or even just someone looking for a fun and fast paced read!

Don't let the cover scare you off! This book is sooooo funny. I actually finished it between two and four am and was waking up family members with my laughing.
There is simply no other book or movie, to compare or contrast it to; just get it and enjoy!!!

Pennington's un-put-down-able first in a proposed series has amazingly unflappable characters mixed in with brilliant wit and humor and engulfs us with a family that mystery lovers love. We find a father that doesn't hold back his feelings whether good or bad; a mother that leads by example; and children who, in one way or another, mirrors the mix of the two. Add in the other equally fully developed "members" of the family "unit" and you've got yourself an excellent read. I couldn't put it down until I finished. My first Pennington--definitely not my last.

Great storytelling! The plot gets pretty tricky near the end but still understandable. the author holds it all together well along with the readers attention.

This book is packed with entertainment. I will definitely be waiting for the next book about the Charon Family.

If you had the pleasure of reading the Fourth Awakening. You will love Rod's new book A Family ReunionA Family Reunion (The First Charon Family Adventure) it is an amazing story it gets you right from the first sentence. I have read many books by some very good writers all top authors Rod ranks right up there with the best. Like the fourth awakening this book keeps you reading from beginning to end. It is riveting.
I am going to see What else Rod has written he is a best selling author and best kept secret in my view.

I am so thrilled that via Kindle I have come across authors such as Rod Pennington that are able to rock my socks off while reading their book...You gotta check out the first in his new series of a family of assassins..the kind that are actually on our side...named A Family Reunion. This book provided some of the best elements I look for when searching for a new author....thrills, action, a bit of sexiness, extreme hilarity and more important...a damn good plot. The action was kickass....the laughter was wonderful...but most of all...you really like the characters of the Charon family...and their supporting cast. The next book, Family Business, should be out in the next few months per the author, and I wait with bated breath to grab it and have some real fun. I highly recommend to those who are addicted to suspense/thrillers with a political background and who like lots of action. Great job by the author...many kudos!
