Book Description

With a couple of dead bodies thrown in, Detective Brady Marshall’s stolen goods case has just become a lot more interesting. His love life takes a turn for the better when he meets Gina Morris, a feisty waitress at the club where the latest victim has surfaced. A happily unattached ladies’ man, Brady isn’t looking to settle down. But after meeting the beautiful Italian spitfire, his thoughts are shifting in that direction.

Gina Morris doesn’t date cops. Until she meets Brady, that is, and gets won over by his dogged persistence and winning smile. With things in her past that are best left unspoken, Gina hesitates to get too close, but can’t resist the handsome detective’s charm. When his case runs smack dab into her past life, both of them are forced to make choices they never dreamed possible in an attempt to salvage their relationship, and possibly even save their lives.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

Thanks for checking out my work. If you like romantic suspense I recommend my "A Cop in the Family" series: Family Secrets, Family Ties and Family Honor. I also have a short novella available in Kindle format only called On the Edge.

If you like straight romance, may I suggest my new series The Blame Game. The books in order are: Blame it on the Stars, Blame it on the Moon, Blame it on the Sun, and  Blame it on the Rain. Also look for romance titles Secrets and Lies and Playing For Keeps.

My collection of romantic short stories is pulled together into one book called Impulsive, and each story is available separately as an Amazon short.

I'm currently working on a new romantic suspense series for the spring of 2014 called Witness Security.

I hope you enjoy!

About the Author

Jamie Hill was born and raised in a beautiful, mid-sized town in Midwest, USA. At various times she wanted to be a veterinarian, teacher, cheerleader, TV star or a famous singer. The one thing she always wanted to be was a writer. Starting at about age ten, she penned romance as she envisioned it in one spiral notebook after another. When she's not working at the day job she loves, Jamie enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and watching movies (the scarier the better!) In her 'spare time' she can often be found writing, editing, or doing something more mundane like housework. After that, she's probably taking a nap. She loves to hear from readers, so feel free to drop her a line.

5.0 out of 5 stars Family Ties by Jamie Hill February 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Jamie Hill writes an action-packed mystery/romance filled with real people and real possibilities, plus a magnetic, sexy attraction between the heroine and hero. Her characters are so life-like, they practically leap off the (electronic) pages. This book is a page-turner, for sure!

5.0 out of 5 stars Families May 14, 2012

What a brilliantly written book, about a cop meeting and falling in love with an Italian girl, most of her family are not what they seem. She detests cops and he is a ladies man with no thought of settling down. An interesting start on how they meet at the beginning and their attraction builds into love between them. she has changed her name WHY! Well written love story with murder and drugs in the background. No saccharin in this story!

The storyline was okay. I enjoyed the dialogue in the story. I liked what Gina did to her scumbag of a boss. I loved how Gina saved Brady. I loved how Gina & Brady didn't let her past or her family stop them from being together.

4.0 out of 5 stars actipn packed romance September 24, 2013
By Paula
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed this action packed, romance. Brady meet Gina at the bar when Gina was working as a waitress. Brady was a cop, and Gina told him that she did not like cops. Brady was known as being a player. Something about Gina was different. It didn't take long for Brady to talk her into to a date, but the two took things slow. Gina was special, and Brady wanted more than just a fling. I like how the author allowed their friendship to develop and grow. The couple's relationship did struggle when Brady's case was investigating Gina's family. This book had car chases, bullets, and action that kept me flipping the pages. If you enjoy a good action, romance I would recommend this one.

I got this book on my kindle for free before going on vacation just so I'd have something to read. It is a great page turner! This is the first book review I've ever done and I really enjoyed this book. I read it in 2 days. I work in law enforcement, so it seemed to touch home with me. Kept me interested and the author made it all seem so real. I look forward to reading more from this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love the series September 21, 2013
By Nikke
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Once again...I enjoyed this story as I did the last. I loved hearing about previous characters! My issue.....the meet and "one month" later spout love for one another although the other side of the story had only progressed about two weeks.....a bit confusing as a reader. In the end their rapid love plays out and it flows but during the story it doesn't mesh well. But even to the hall halfway point and they "love" one another.....
