5.0 out of 5 stars If you want to see Family Ties season 6 released... August 1, 2010
By Adam R
Everyone that wants to see this (and season 7) get released needs to send an email to Paramount Home Entertainment's customer service at:

phe_customerservice@paramount.com

They will reply! Just send them a general note asking when season 6/7 is coming out, and tell them how bad you want it released. They have told me it is not on their upcoming release schedule, so we need to make our voices heard! If you want this on DVD take a couple of minutes and send them an email, repost this everywhere you can. The only way this is coming out is if all the Family Ties fans get together and make enough noise, don't let this be one of countless shows that never gets it's release finished!

4.0 out of 5 stars Paramount, Please finish putting this show out! December 8, 2009
Love Family Ties! Grew up watching this show as a kid in the 80s. It ended in 1989 when I was 13. I just wish Paramount would release the last 2 seasons so us fans can complete our collections.

Season 6 I think got moved to Sunday nights if memory serves me correct. This season Alex has a new girlfriend Lauren Miller (played by Courtney Cox, who was not that well known yet.) The first episode of the season is a ONE HOUR EPISODE where Alex meets Lauren. Lauren is doing a assignment for her college course about OVER ACHIEVERS. She decides to use Alex for her project and gives him a pollygraph test, Which is absolutely hilarious. I have this episode on a Columbia House Video but would love to have it and the rest of the series on DVD. You will die laughing at the pollygraph scene.

Please Paramount put the rest of Family Ties out, SOON!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally! February 22, 2013
Format:DVD
I've been waiting three years to continue the attempted completion of my "Family Ties" DVD collection. I won't be content until I've got all seven fabulous seasons of this quintessential '80s program -- my favorite show of all time -- in my possession, but at least I now see the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you, Paramount, for finally getting around to releasing Season 6. I've waited too long, but better late than never. The Season 6 DVD has immediately earned a spot atop my birthday wish list, and I've made all my friends and family members well aware. Now, fellow "Family Ties" fans, let's make sure sales are brisk enough to convince the good folks at Paramount to release Season 7 in the NEAR future. I don't want to wait another three years! To paraphrase a certain theme song, "What would we do, baby, without Season 7?" These DVDs are, after all, the "Ties" that bind us.

I have been waiting for a LONG time for this season to be released. They really hit a great stride this season. The introduction of Courtney Cox's character as a love interest brought out some of the funniest lines and circumstances the series ever saw.

Every aspect this season just seemed to fire on all cylinders. Andy, the youngest, became more active, and gave them yet another point of view for humorous lines.

And, of course, there's the "Dear Mallory" episode with one of the greatest lines Alex P. Keaton ever uttered, when she said, "It's like there's this little voice, inside my head, saying..." and Alex breaks in with, "Gee, you can see for MILES in here!"

Courtney Cox shined in this season, this was in my opinion her best work. I didn't like her as much on Friends, maybe she was just fresh enough here being a still unknown name and face.

And if anyone can get through the first episode with Alex and the lie detector without wetting their pants laughing, there's something seriously wrong with them.

For any fan who loved Family Ties, the gold ring is finally here to grasp, Season 6. The audio quality and video quality are about as great as you can hope for from such an old source filmed in 4:3, but I'm glad they preserved the format rather than do some pan and scan type of conversion to a widescreen format. So the video looks good, even on an HDTV, despite the lower resolution source. I hadn't expected it to be crystal clear, but I had hoped it wouldn't be WORSE than seeing it originally when it was aired, and it was better than I had hoped for.
