5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best children's Bible on the market!
We are very impressed with the pictures, text, and brief discussion ideas at the end of each story. The accounts of the Bible stories are Biblically correct. Toddlers show great interest in the book and often select it for their own independent browsing. Many of the popular children's Bible songs are portrayed in the pictures. This is an inpirational,...

2.0 out of 5 stars Pictures too graphic for toddlers
Personal opinion here, but the pictures in this Bible are too graphic for my 2 year old. A naked, voluptious Eve with just the minimum covered. Abel taking a rock to Cain's head with scary rage on his face. People climbing a mountain in terror as they are about the drown in the flood. All true and very realistic depictions, but a little scary nonetheless, and more...

5.0 out of 5 stars Engaging and complete children's Bible, February 22, 2009

This is a fantastic Bible for young children, with gorgeous, engaging paintings. The stories are short and accurate, a great length to do one every day or even several at a time. There are 128 stories, so it's really complete, with great selections from the Old and New Testaments. A child would have a really good overview of the Bible after reading these. My 4-year-old loves to flip through and ask, "What's this one, Mommy?" and always wants to hear more.

A note: This isn't a sugar-coated Bible. Some of the pictures show blood and suffering and are dramatic, but they're tastefully done and not gory. I think it's especially captivating because the beautiful pictures are true to the stories and really draw you in. My daughter and I talk about death pretty freely and easily and this prompts lots of good conversations, but some might have a harder time with it.

I would think this to be appropriate for 3-year olds through mid-elementary aged children.

5.0 out of 5 stars An EXCELLENT Bible for young children!, June 22, 2011

Phew! Finding the right Bible for your kids is an exhausting task. I spent more than 2 hours reading reviews and descriptions before deciding on this one for our 4-year old. I am soooo happy I did. We have and love the Children's Beginner Bible (it's perfect for ages 1 - 6), but our 4-year old son was asking very perceptive questions and needed a Bible geared towards older children. He understands the stories in this one, all of which stand true to God's Word instead of being changed to our time, and the pictures are beautiful (though the Adventure Story Bible had incredibly gorgeous pictures that seemed more interesting and appropriate for young children...we returned that one because of MAJOR Biblical truths they distorted/omitted). We read this every night and it makes for a perfect time with my boys (ages 2 and now 5), my favorite part of each day. They are EXCITED to read it each night, even after owning it for a year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Our whole family enjoys this Bible, June 9, 2008
This review is from: Family-Time Bible in Pictures (Hardcover)
We spend time each evening reading one of the stories. The illustrations are wonderful. I feel now that if a product has Kenneth Taylor's name on it, the content can be fully trusted. The stories only take a couple of minutes to read, so there is ample time to discuss the story, or read more.

We keep our 4 year old son and 3 year old daughter with us during church service. They bring their children's Bibles and look at pictures of they get bored. This particular Bible is a favorite with our son. The realistic pictures really grab his attention and prompt discussion later. Little boys are often drawn to swords and play-fighting, so why not read them true stories of fighting for the Lord?

We do utilize several different Bibles with the kids. I prefer more detail in the stories when we are teaching them during Bible time, but this one is great for the kids to look through on their own, or to discuss at random.

5.0 out of 5 stars Our girls love this Bible!, April 8, 2011

We've used this Bible each night, for a couple of years, before our girls (5, 3) go to bed. The stories are not long and the illustrations are wonderful for keeping their attention. Our copy has already been used so much that we had to duct tape it back together. I do not have a lot of experience with other children's Bibles, but I would highly recommend this one to any parent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Family Time or School Time, November 22, 2010

This review is from: Family-Time Bible in Pictures (Hardcover)
This Bible is used with our curriculum at home and it is nice and short. Actually, it may be a bit too short at times, compared to other Bibles we have for kids, but when pressed for time and attention this fits the bill. Some stories are one page some span just a bit over two with questions for comprehension at the end. Glad we got it!
