5.0 out of 5 stars Family Tree Maker 2010, October 18, 2009

This product is wonderful! I have been struggling to build my tree in [...], and have so many duplicates, much less difficulties navigating (I have over 4000 names in my tree), and this is the first version of Family Tree Maker that I have used that actually INTERFACES with Ancestry, and allows me to clean up duplicates, and update my tree in virtual time! I no longer have to build my tree, then upload it, because it is working on my actual tree at the same time I am...can't say enough about this product!

4.0 out of 5 stars FTM 2010, September 25, 2009

Have had a few problems and have had to get tech support. Program quits when I want to merge duplicates. Very frustrating. However, tech support is awesome! Finally had to reinstall program and import facts all over again. So far, so good. Not to say this won't happen again! FTM needs to make sure they have all of the bugs out before they sell their CDs! I have Vista. Hope problem is solved before Windows 7 comes out! Linda

3.0 out of 5 stars Went back to my old favorite, January 23, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Family Tree Maker 2010 Platinum [OLD VERSION] (CD-ROM)
I am getting back into my family's genealogy after a few years' absence and I thought I wanted a simpler program than the one I had used in the past - The Master Genealogist. After a month's trial with the Family Tree Maker, I went back to TMG - it is not that much more complicated than this one and it is so much more flexible and more comprehensive in almost every way. For instance, once a woman marries, she is shown in the index under her maiden name and her married name.

I did like that 6 months' free access to [...] was included with FTM. There is nothing really wrong with this program, it's just if you've ever used TMG, nothing else compares.
