A different family.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Family Tree (Hardcover)
Family tree traces a family of circus performers from the matriarch to the child speaking. The illustration of the family tree is reverse to what most think of, the great grandmother is at the top of the tree and the child is one of the first branches by the trunk. The child is black in a white family tree and the only mention of the childs biological family is that the child no longer has a family in the country far away. It does stress where the child belongs in the family tree. The illustrations are colorful and fun, the story is a fun read with the encouragement to refer back to the family tree illustration at the beginning of the book. It does handle the concept of dads brother being the childs uncle, family structure is easier with reference to the family tree.
