This book was a bestseller in its day. I read it years ago and enjoyed it. I gave it another go and enjoyed it less, as I found it somewhat dated and some of the characters too stereotypically drawn. I also felt that there were too many subplots that left the reader hanging. Still, it is a moderately entertaining book that takes the reader into the worlds of organized crime and high finance. Those who enjoy stories revolving around the Mafia will, undoubtedly, enjoy this one.
