The stories in this nice tome were originally published from the 1900s-1940s, and tend to fit more into the horror genre than not, although 1 or 2 might be better classified as fantasy or science fiction. Overall the tales are very good, and you can see why they were chosen for this collection. I have now added other works by some of the authors (most of which I had never heard) to my "wish list" on Amazon, and have already purchased a collection of works by one of them. Great for any fan of the more haunting aspects of pulp fiction, and an excellent introduction for those who are curious.
