I discovered this album 10 years ago. Initially it was enjoyable, mostly for the popish "It's Raining Again" and "My Kind of Lady." But this album, as much as Springsteen's "The River" or Dan Fogelburg's "Innocent Age," needs to be listened to again and again to derive satisfaction from its entirety. Supertramp manages to capture diverse musical styles in the various songs and bring a continuity to this album which is unparalleled. "Know Who You Are" is one of the most haunting, gorgeously textured songs in modern music. This is one of my favorite albums of all time, even if based only on many thousands of times I have listened to it! Highly, highly recommended.

This is the last Album Supertramp did before "the Voice" Roger Hodgson left to his solo career. It's still kind of the old Supertramp sound but one misses the spirit of the early recordings.

"It's raining again" is already an evergreen.

I wished Supertramp could keep in that formation to give more of that refreshing sound. The mixture between Rock and soft ballads is what makes up Supertramp.

The followed Album "Brother where you bound" lacks already 1/2 of the Supertramp sound given by roger Hodgson (meaning the soft Ballads are missing).

Supertramp reached the peak of its pop greatness with this album, one that I have never tired of listening to from start to finish. It's hard to recommend any one song over another, but the super-catchiness of the semi-danceable "Crazy" and the "live" feel of "Put On Your Old Brown Shoes", as well as the upbeat optimism of "My Kind Of Lady" are all top-tier examples of great music.

As their last effort with Roger Hogson, "...famous last words..." is listenable all the way through. The group seems to be keeping the winning recipe that has made "Breakfast in America" their major commercial breakthrough, by writing accessible, poppy and rather soft music. Being not as consistent as their other albums, this one is rather a collection of songs spanning a wide range of musical styles.

Crazy is a great pop opener I will never get tired of. The bubblegum hit It's Raining Again will either make you sick or cheer you up for the day. My Kind Of Lady sounds like a 50's ballad Rick Davies must have written when he was 6... but is still enjoyable though.

My favourite cut is the haunting Waiting So Long, which is the darkest of the album. Know Who You Are is a simple yet great moody track which, like Waiting So Long, reminds us the group's earlier albums.

Like any other Supertramp album, there is no real weak track on this one. Ok, some sound like silly music for children, but they're still enjoyable. And others show clever melodies and arrangements that always chracterised them. If you liked the diversity and pop sound of Breakfast in America, give a try to this one. However, if bubblegum and silly lyrics makes you sick, there are still 3 or 4 track you're gonna like.

This CD is extremely good, Put On Your Old Brown Shoes, It's Raining Again and My Kind of Lady are one of best Supertramp musics!

This Cd I have been looking for a long time.I started liking Supertramp the summer of 79 when Breakfast in America came out. I was going to start High School that record help me in a time of my life that was changing. After Breakfast I wanted all of there records.I was sad the day I heard Roger Hodson was leaving the band.Famous last words was just that. His last words to us the people who like there songs. the things he had to say that were in his heart.I hope one day they will get back for one show and rock out.
