I took a chance on these towels and was pleasantly surprised. The towels "poofed" up after removing the plastic wrap they were sealed in. After the first washing they were even fluffier and more delicious than before. I usually buy larger bath sheets from another manufacturer and while those are larger, they are nowhere near as fluffy as these are. I prefer the fluffiness to the size, so I went back and have now ordered 5 more sets! My guests say they are spoiled here.

Keep an eye on these as Amazon has had the prices on the set with the bonus hand towels and wash cloths for as low as $11.99.

On August 27, M. Chang offered a review that these towels are not thirsty and inexpensive. I believe this to be quite to the contrary. These towels are not in-expensive, they are a bargain! M. Chang's comments are true when the towel is new. What M. Chang is experiencing is common with a top quality cotton fiber towel. Initially, these towels, by the nature of their fiber will push water around even though they feel fluffy and plush. It will take a minimum of 12 normal use and wash cycles for the fibers to begin to open up and really show the value of the fiber. I own a number of the Supima cotton Martex towels and they all displayed this characteristic when new. Once they are broken in you will never want to use another towel. They only get better with age and this is similar to the experience that M. Chang had with her 10 year old towel. Additionally, these towels are not only made with 100% cotton but they are made with 100% extra long fiber cotton which is the top quality cotton available in the world and is more durable than regular cotton because of a higher fiber strength. The Supima name on a cotton product is your only guarantee that that it is made with the world's best cotton. The simple label of cotton or even Egyptian cotton does not offer this same guarantee as it can be anything from a low grade cotton to a fine grade cotton. Egyptian cotton simply means it came from Egypt and doesn't imply any quality. As a matter of fact, most Egyptian cotton offerings for home textiles are only made with a short fiber or long fiber cotton and not the extra long fiber of Supima cotton. Typically, the only Egyptian extra long fiber cotton will be found in fine apparel such as dress shirts or in fine sheeting costing several hundred dollars a set. Buyer be ware and know your product. Don't be fooled by false marketing. Another example is that the higher the thread counts (TC) on a sheet the better the product is. This is not true either as manufacturers will ply their yarns to artificially increase the thread count. Top quality sheets are made with single ply yarns and typically start at about a 300 TC and go up to a 1020 TC.

My towels are noticably thicker and heavier than my old ones with nice loose and fluffy loops. Overall, they were sturdy but there were several loose and dangling threads that pulled right out without unravelling anything else. After about 6 washings (I haven't counted), the loops loosened up, got fluffier and softer. There hasn't been any problems with loose lint or anymore loose threads since the first or second wash/dry.

The handtowels had crooked corners/bad stitching and four or five long loose threads that unravelled a bit when pulled. It just took two minutes with a pair of scissors to trim them and I don't consider it much of a bother but it does distract a bit from a perfect score but it was an excellent price!

I got this set for christmas, in the beige color. Each towel unraveled at the edges after the very first wash. I thought expensive towels were supposed to last longer!?

I only purchased these because of the large discount during a Friday Sale (IIRC), hoping that I wouldn't be dissappointed. I cannot express how pleased we were with this purchase. Not only are these the softest, thickest, most luxurious towels I have ever experienced (as good, if not better than the best suite towels in Marriott, Hilton, and Radisson suites), but they represent an incredible value. Even at the regular Amazon price of $19.99, they are a steal. When they occasionally go on sale for $5 less (such as on a Friday Sale), they are an incomparable deal, costing less than cheap Costco bath towels of similar size, while being several cuts above in quality.

For my money, these are the only towels one should consider. If you have ever experienced a thick, soft, luxurious towel in a suite of the finest hotels or your rich uncle's place, this is an inexpensive way to enjoy this small luxury daily. This is the best towel purchase decision I have ever made. The next time these go on sale here at Amazon, I will purchase as many as I can afford. I have never seen a better price on these towels than the Amazon.com sale price, especially when you get free shipping! :) Simply put: Get these towels. You will NOT be disappointed. I only wish that Martex would compensate me for such a glowing review, but their product is truly exceptional and deserving of praise, so I will just live with it. :)

I bought these towels and was totally suprised at how good they were especially after reading some of the older comments. They are very fluffy and big....an excellent bargain at the time and prices when I bought them! They are "top of the line" and washed up gorgeously!

I was a little skeptical about buying these bath towels because of how inexpensive they were but after reading a few of the comments I decided to purchase just one set to try out. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these towels. They are don't take long to dry even though they are super fluffy, they are a great size, and they come in a wide variety of colors. Now I only wish I had purchased more when they were on sale.

I originally gave these towels a 5-star rating but I am having to downgrade the rating to a two-star rating. The quality of the towels is great. I love the size and how fluffy and absorbant they are. HOWEVER, there is something in my bathroom that I use (I haven't figured out what it is yet) that when I dry off with the towels, the blue turns to a purple color. At the present nearly a third of my towels are ruined due to the discoloration so I'm going to be giving the towels to Good Will and purchasing new ones. I never had any problems with Martex towels and color retention so this has been quite disturbing. I'd probably buy these towels again in white or a neutral color as they are wonderful towels but I'd be careful about the darker colors.

These are fantastic towels for the price that are still thick, soft, and maintain the same color (buttercup, laptis) after many washes. I aslo try Grand Patrician brand towels and these supima towels get dry faster than Grand Patrician one. Will definitely purchase them again.

These are VERY SOFT! I have bought towels in this price range before that felt like cardboard! I keep coming back for more!
