Famous Places marks the third full-length release by composer Goldmund (aka Keith Kenniff/Helios) and the second release for Texas-based record label Western Vinyl. A graduate of Berklee College of Music with a degree in percussion, Kenniff focuses his Goldmund project instead on solo piano, mixing the delicate composition of composers such as Erik Satie and Harold Budd with a quiet and elegant simplicity.

Famous Places (August 24, 2010) is another soothing, lovely album by Goldmund, (compser/performer). That has his intimate, warm piano front and center of the music on the album. All the selections are lovely, but my favorites are the ones, for example, Pine View, on which its just the piano. Goldmund has a way of playing that almost gives one the sense that the music one hears is coming from within the listener. The piano is allowed ambient sounds, of keys striking strings, that somehow enhances and draws the listener into what is being played. All the tunes are lyrical, spare, and played at slow tempos. This a wonderful album you can listen to, or have as background while working or relaxing and/or meditating. I sampled and then purchased it on Amazon. Highly recommended.

Wonderful. Wonderful. I'm a fan. Not as breathtakingly deep and heavy as the "The Malady of Elegance", it is faster, but still engrained with the same sentiment. The music, no doubt, is fresh and touching. The music opens the heart.
