Ton van Bergeyk's classic album "Famous Ragtime Guiter Solos" now available on CD for the first time and sounding just as good as it did on vinyl back in the seventies. The release of this CD will undoubtedly be welcomed by many guitar fans worldwide, providing an opportunity once again to hear the superb interpretation of these ragtime classics by the man who became known as the wizard of the strings. Included on the CD is a PDF file containing the tab music files for all tracks. A superb album indeed and let's hope that Ton's remaining albums also appear on CD in the not too distant future.

I listen to a lot of rag time guitar music, but this is the best I have heard. Buy this cd and you won't regret it. Comes with pdf file so you can get tab for all songs.

...but famous ragtime PIANO solos arranged for guitar.

Ragtime guitar music is a different animal from ragtime piano music, but unfortunately difficult to find recordings of. 98% of the albums encountered that claim to be "ragtime guitar" are, in fact, arrangements of ragtime piano pieces being played on the guitar. This is another one.

Not that there's anything wrong with ragtime piano, and the arrangmeents on this CD are tastefully done and skillfully executed. But mostly this is piano music being played on the guitar. If you're looking for real ragtime -guitar- you won't find much of it here: better to pick up an album by Blind Blake.
