4.0 out of 5 stars Short and Sweet, October 11, 2010

Inspired by Top Secret Recipes, this Kindle recipe book was certainly worth its purchase price. All of the recipes are reasonable recreations of dishes found in restaurant chains, none too challenging for the amateur home cook.

While many of the recipes could be recreated with just a little research and common sense, I appreciate that Ms. Stone has already done the leg work for me. There are a few dishes I would not have attempted without her pointers (the Chili's-inspired black bean burger for one) and only a couple of recipes that struck me as mere cookbook filler (Hooter's wings = wings, Hooter's brand breading, and Hooter's wing sauce).

Conversion to e-book format brought no enhancements - it is basically just a text file - but using the Kindle "Search This Book" option is sufficient to overcome this limitation. For the price, no complaints.

2.0 out of 5 stars No table of contents, June 18, 2011

Text searching only works if you know what you are looking for. A table of contents would have made this a lot more useful. As it is you have to page through the book to see what is in it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Secret Recipes Revealed, December 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This cookbook was worth the price for me because it offered some family favorites: Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits, Blackeye Pea Fried Corn, and Olive Garden Tuscan Potatoes. We no longer have Orange Julius in our malls, but my daughter remembered it from years ago when she was a kindergartener and loved the recipe in the book. Her fiance declared the copy cat Red Lobster biscuits a hit.

The food turned out to taste just like the restaurant items, and the recipes were easy to follow.

A table of contents would probably be helpful, but I didn't really require one because I'm more of a recreational cook now I suppose. When I'm not on deadline, desperately trying to finish my latest novel, I cook. When I cook and want to try a new recipe, I like paging through a cookbook to see what strikes my fancy.

This cookbook has lots of popular restaurant dishes to tempt you into the kitchen.
