HEART

Ann Wilson and her younger sister, Nancy Wilson first showed the world that women can rock when their band Heart stormed the charts in the '70s with hits like "Crazy on You," "Magic Man," "Barracuda," ‘Straight On,” “Even It Up,” “Kick It Out” and so many more. They continued topping the charts through the ... Read more in Amazon's Heart Store

Editorial Reviews

Heart's 14th studio album, Fanatic, ranks as one of the Wilson Sisters most rock & roll albums to date. With Grammy-winning producer Ben Mink at the helm (who also produced their last album, Red Velvet Car), these ten essential performances by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson are a celebration of their life spirit: Ann and Nancy are fanatics about love, art and truth. Includes the title track "Fanatic," "Dear Old America," and "Million Miles."

This CD sounds like vintage Heart. They are getting back to what they do best - ROCK! Each song sounds personal and Ann Wilson sounds better than ever! These 2 ladies are just unstoppable and are at the top of their game on this one. No filler - every song is amazing. Standouts are Million Miles, 59 Crunch and Mashalla.

I must admit that i was very skeptical about Fanatic when i saw that it was going to be produced by Ben Mink, the same producer that did Red Velvet Car. I'm a big Heart fan, but i really didn't care for Red Velvet Car, it was ok, but just not what i wanted to hear from heart. But wow, after one listen to FANATIC, I had to listen again because i was hearing guitars all over the place....Haven't heard this much guitar on a Heart album since the self titled HEART and the fantastic BEBE LE STRANGE.... Call me crazy, but FANATIC fits nicely between those 2 classic HEART ALBUMS!!!!!! Not as polished as Heart, not quite as heavy as BEBE Le STRANGE, but a great album that falls perfectly in between...THIS WAS A PLEASANT SURPRISE.....Best HEART album in over 20 years!!!!! Ann's voice is as powerful as ever and the BAND is AWESOME....This is a GREAT GUITAR DRIVEN ALBUM!!!!! I have been following Hearts career since Dreamboat Annie and Fanatic really gives me HOPE IN AMERICAN ROCK MUSIC AGAIN!!!!!! THANKS ANN AND NANCY!!!! You Hit This One Outta The Park!!!!! Any REAL HEART FAN will love this!!!!!

After the letdown of "Red Velvet Car", (**) Heart comes back with some good rockin' stuff on "Fanatic". Now not every thing works here, but they connect more than they miss here. The strong tunes here are the plunking Zeppelin sound of "Corduroy Road", Nancy and Ann on the crunchy "59 Crunch", "Mashallah", "Million Miles", the classic rock sound of "Skin And Bones", the patriotic "Dear Old America", really nice string section here and the title track. They sound really inspired after 40 plus years in the music biz. I think it's their best work since 1985's "Heart", album. Ann sounds great here and Nancy still plays guitar with fine fury and class. Classic-rock radio should play the crap out of this, but we all know they won't! Fantastic rock record, the 45-50 age group and above should enjoy this one.

I was reading other reviews on here and thought I'd throw in my $9.99 worth! This CD is worth every penny...all the songs rock and were written by Ann and Nancy Wilson with Ben Mink! It's so true that this probably won't get any air play on the radio and that the age groups here are between people in their 40s and 50s, that grew up with the group and that stuff that was true rock and roll from the 70s and 80s! I am 52 years old and I love this kind of music! Although I liked it, I think it's much better than their last CD called Red Velvet Car from two years ago! And you might want to do yourself this little favor and pick up a copy of the CD at Best Buy because they have an exclusive three bonus tracks (Beautiful Broken, Two Silver Rings and Zingara) that makes a total of thirteen songs instead of the normal ten! And yes...they are great as well! I haven't picked a favorite yet but the songs seem to get just a little better as you go down the track list! Overall...It's Fanatic!

I rarely give anyone 5 stars, but this one definitely deserves it.Perhaps,it's because I've been a fan of the Wilsons for as long as I can remember...But the music is really good and their song writing skills really show in all the songs. Most of the songs I loved. The standouts for me were...Fanatic,Dear Old America,Walkin' Good,A Million Miles,Pennsylvania,Rock Deep and Corduroy Road.Basically the whole album did it for me.Ann & Nancy share vox on the songs which they have been since the 70's.The girls still have it and see no stopping here. The album rocks and if you've been a fan forever, get it now and rock til you drop!!! Aloha!!! \m/

It has been a long time coming and maybe most had given up on this band ever hitting the standard set on their early albums as well as the self titled album in the 80s. This is a fresh and welcome return to form that also pushes some of the boundaries. Who would have thought. Not bad for a band that has been around for 4 decades. All songs have been written by the Wilson sisters with Ben Mink. One cant understate the impact he has had on this album. There is not a bad song on this album. Must listens are Pennsylvania, Million Miles, Mashallah, 59 Crunch. Always rated Ann as one of the top female singers and this album just continues to confirm this. Currently my favourite Heart album.

This CD is pure rock and roll like only Heart can deliver it. Rock and roll is what they are about.. but yes with the vocals and they convey the message of living in 2012 across. The entire CD is made up of songs women, men and
everyone can relate to. It is a Ann & Nancy telling how to live life in 2012

I was very vocal about my disappointment with some of STRANGE EUPHORIA (disc three), but FANATIC is PERFECT!! This album (to me) is their best real rock since 78. The songs flow like an album should (only my opinion). FANATIC has the HEART trademark rock sound, as well as those acoustic songs that put you in a zone. The strings on this album are (again, in my opinion) a masterpiece.. There is as much passion and power in the lighter songs as there is in the rockers.. it's a subtle power that completely envelopes me. I sincerely hope they get into the Rock Hall this year.. I have been a fan since the first album and will be until the day I die.. Thank you Ann and Nancy!

PS.. All 10 of the songs are great! Not even one I would consider skipping over....
