I found it! You will too!, July 19, 2005
This review is from: Fanciful Paper Projects: Making Your Own Posh Little Follies (Hardcover)
I am a true book junkie and I'm always looking for the ultimate and exquisite with easily implemented projects that are fabulous and unique. This is what I consider my dream book. This is a lot to ask but I have finally found THE book. From the first page to the last you will be copying and recopying beautiful images with abandon. I have never spent this amount of money copying color images from a book but every penny was well spent. As soon as I got home I began creating and improvising my own Posh Little Follies. I am making my 18 year old god-daughter a scrapbook and I used many of the images to create funky and exquisite pages. I super-imposed her face on one of the first intro pages of the girl in a teacup as the intro to her life to date. I am in the process of making my own follies for myself. The creative well that this book has opened is immense. If you buy one book this year, make it this one.

Cute, fun, great projects and collage papers included!, June 1, 2005
This review is from: Fanciful Paper Projects: Making Your Own Posh Little Follies (Hardcover)
If "whimsical" is your middle name, you'll love this new book from Sandra Evertson. Fanciful Paper Projects is full of just that: fun, fabulous, and fanciful art and craft projects you make with paper, found objects, and your favorite embellishments.
Sandra makes each project very easy and approachable by providing complete instructions in an engaging, chatty sort of style. She also provides something unique to craft books: pages and pages of collage art that you can photocopy to use on your own projects. Or, if you dare, tear the pages out and cut out the original imagery to make projects just like hers.
Although you wouldn't necessarily know it from looking at the cover, the author is in love with paper-based art dolls and she provides 10 projects on this subject, plus several additional papercrafts that involve some sort of human figure (paper toy theaters, for example).
Her style is vintage with a modern twist and an emphasis on playful fun. Some might say "cute," but I say "playfully experimental." If you need to inject a little bit of fun into your collage artwork, pick up this book and soon you'll be "making your own posh little follies."

A Fresh Paper Arts Book, August 8, 2005
This review is from: Fanciful Paper Projects: Making Your Own Posh Little Follies (Hardcover)
I own a lot of paper arts books, and this is one of the few I jumped into immediately and started making fun and whimsical projects. If the images on the cover has grabbed your attention, you will not be disappointed with what's inside; lots of clear step-by-step instructions, with paper parts provided to copy yourself, to make the most charming, vintage-inspired "follies".
Although everything is provided for completing the projects as illustrated, there is plenty of room for personalizing, such as using your own ephemera.
A paper artist's delight!
