We bought this for our 3 y.o. daughter and she loves it.

I think that the last page of the book, Fancy Nancy's fancy words, is very good for the little ones to learn vocabulary.

I smile through the whole story when my grandkids read it to me.

Fancy Nancy has to make cupcakes for a school bake sale, and this colorfully illustrated book lets her tell her story and share some vocabulary words, like exhausted and velvet. I's a simple story geared toward new readers and Nancy learns a lesson about paying attention when people are talking to her. It's a cute, short tale with illustrations and will appeal to fans of Fancy Nancy.

Another "exquisite" book on Fancy Nancy. My granddaughter now uses "fancy" words, at age 4, in the appropriate way, thanks to a clever series of Fancy Nancy books. What a unique idea! This book just had to be added to my granddaughter's collection. If you get these books for your little girl, they will be a guaranteed "hit".

My two daughters loooooove the Fancy Nancy series as I do! I love the way Jane O'Connor has incorporated into each book "fancy" words along with what they mean (Jane O'Connor gets a 10 in my book!). My children love the stories (which are also educational) along with learning the "fancy" words throughout the story. My children speak well for their ages (now 6 and 10 but were introducted to Fancy Nancy at 4 or 5) and I'd like to give some credit to Jane O'Connor's Fancy Nancy books for that. I love the character Fancy Nancy as well - she is soo cute and portrayed as a child who always means well. Credit also goes to the illustrator, Robin Preiss Glasser who does a fabulous job portraying Fancy Nancy!

Kindle version is missing words. For example "Nancy's mom went to the store to get milk, butter, our and eggs." Sure I know the author meant flour and not our but my learning to read 5 year old does not. Not a good book for learning to read. The Kindle version is not well done. I love the Fancy Nancy books but am hesitant to get any more in a Kindle version if they are all poorly done like this one.

A wonderful book! My little grand daughter who's not yet 3, loves it. I bought her the doll for her 3rd birthday (coming in Dec), along with a couple of the books. But since she has never heard of Fancy Nancy, I decided to give her one of the books before her birthday to get her acquainted with Nancy, so when she opens the doll she'll be more excited to have her. She's learned the bigger words in the book and knows how to use them properly. I'm sure the other Fancy Nancy books will bring her years of joy also. It's always nice to buy something that I can continue to buy more related items for other occasions also.

Fancy Nancy is a captivating series especially for young girls who are captivated by all things frilly. The text is a great mix if sight words and words that grow a child's vocabulary. And the artwork is bright and energetic.
I highly recommend the books in this series.
