Jane O'Connor is the author of more than thirty books for children, including the New York Times bestselling Fancy Nancy series, illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser, and the Nina, Nina Ballerina stories, illustrated by Dyanne Disalvo-Ryan. Fancy Nancy was nominated for the Quill Award for Best Picture Book in 2007. The Emperor's Silent Army: Terra Cotta Warriors of Ancient China won Booklist's Best Nonfiction Book for Young Readers in 2000. Jane has two grown sons. She was born, bred and still lives in New York City with her husband and their canine companion, Arrow.

Fancy Nancy Halloween or Bust,

My daughter loved being able to design a new Halloween costume for Nancy at the end of the book. The only down side was that you can only decorate Nancy once. I was creative though, and copied the last page so that my daughter was able to create 4 different costumes for Nancy. Then I taped the extra pages into the book. This way the book now has 4 different endings.

My daughter's birthday is around Halloween (she got the book a little early!), so I always try to get a couple of new Halloween books for her. Not having read any Fancy Nancy books before, I ordered this and she loves it! She wants to read it over and over again- a good sign- and this book prompted us to get additional Fancy Nancy books.

my granddaughter loves her bks, I get each of them and she sits down and starts reading as soon as I give it to her, later looks at them again. she is our own fancy nancy, so that is why i got the first one, now she and family are hooked on them. she just turned 7
