When Nancy's best friend Bree shows up with new glasses, Nancy can hardly believe how fancy they are. The glasses are purple with sparkles, come in a silver case, and a fancy silk handkerchief to clean them with. Nancy soon wishes that she had a pair of fancy glasses for herself, but Nancy has perfect sight. She comes up with a solution, however, by turning as old pair of sunglasses into pretend fancy glasses.

Fancy Nancy returns in this spectacular book that should appeal to girls just beginning to read. The story is easy to understand, and I really liked the twist of a child wanting glasses instead of wishing they didn't have to wear them. The illustrations are again perfect for the story. And Nancy's characteristic narration will teach kids new words.

Just a week ago, my 6.5 year old found out, she needs to wear glasses for reading. I immediately went to the library to start looking for books to help with the transition. I found books about boys, books about kids who don't wear their glasses, and books about kids being made fun for their glasses. And then I found Fancy Nancy Spectacular Spectacles.

Nancy's friend Bree is getting glasses, and Nancy just loves them and talks about how awesome they are. She even thinks she might need this. My daughter plans to take this book with her to school next week to share with her class when it will be the first time she wears her new glasses to school.

It was exactly what I was looking for.

This is a very cute book. My Granddaughter can read it and is tickled

about that. Her brother just got glasses so the book is very appropriate.

After learning my 4 year old granddaughter may need glasses soon I thought this book would help her adjust. Both my granddaughters like Fancy Nancy books. I like them because of vocabulary.

Our four granddaughters are always happy when I have a new Fancy Nancy book. The story is good and new vocabulary in each book. They love to look at the details in each book and love it when I have a new one to read to them. We had a Fancy Nancy tea party and I buy each new one.

My 8 year old loves all the Fancy Nancy books! This one has been a nice hit for her! I like that she is really reading it!

Excellent book but be aware that it is probably a book for 1st or 2nd graders begining to read. My grand daughter love Fancy Nancy, however these are way to easy for an 8 yr old

My 8 year old loves loves loved (her quote) Eloise, even to the point that for a while she would only answer to Eloise! However, Fancy Nancy has taken over and now we can not have enough Fancy Nancy books in the house. As a "slow reader" it is wonderful to have books that she loves to read over and over - and these are just right for the child beginning to read on their own. The art work is darling and the stories are delightful; and now we have a new "love love love" on the bookshelves.

Great book to read to children prepairing for glasses. Little girls love the magical nature of Fancy Nancy. Excellent teaching tool!

My daughter loves Fancy Nancy and this book is no exception. A great addition to a first reader's library.
