Nancy has a loose tooth, and if she looses her tooth at school, she will get a special tooth-shaped necklace to take it home in. Nancy does everything she can think of to make sure she looses her tooth at school instead of home. But when she looses the tooth on the way to school, will she tell the truth and risk not getting the necklace that she wants so much?

Like all Fancy Nancy stories, this book has good vocabulary building for children, and lovely illustrations. It also captures the childhood tension of really wanting something, and presents the message that no matter how much you want it, it is more important to be honest and do the right thing.

I started two of my great granddaughters on the "Fancy Nancy" books several years ago, and they are now 8 and 6 yrs. old respectively and both still love the Nancy character! They get them for their birthdays and for Christmas each year, and the books are always welcomed with glee. I actually found a "Fancy Nancy" Tee Shirt and gown for the 6-year old recently and purchased it for her 6-year old birthday that has just passed {in January 2011} and she loved it! I will continue to buy and give the books to the girls until they outgrow them. Most little girls love the themes that the books touch upon, and I think it helps them to acclimate themselves for life at their age, like the "First Grader Book" and the "Loose Tooth" one. The girls know what to expect before they have to actually do it and it takes some of the fear and anxiety out of normal life events for them. They realize it is something that all kids their age go through and is a natural part of growing up so they are prepared when it is their time to experience these events in their growing into "big girls" phases. I am so glad that I discovered the FN Books on amazon so that my little ones can now enjoy them!Fancy Nancy and the Delectable Cupcakes (I Can Read Book 1)

I bought this for my granddaughter and my daughter will hold it until her first tooth comes out. This is a wonderful book, as are all Fancy Nancy books.

Both my girls (6 & 3) love Fancy Nancy.

She teaches them cool facts, good morals, nice manners, new vocabulary, and to embrace the unique!

The illustrations are beautifully done and always make me smile with quirky elements that parents will appreciate too.

Fancy Nancy's loose tooth was relevant to my grand daughter as she just lost two just before we read this. Both of us love the Fancy Nancy stories as they are consistently top quality material and good vocabulary teaching tools.
