Written for girly-girls ages 4 to 8, this latest Fancy Nancy title celebrates Easter. Readers can lift 13 different flaps to see what is underneath.

The story is about Nancy's family getting ready for an Easter party; Nancy and her best friend Bree help with the decorations. There are Easter eggs and baskets, and a little child dressed as the Easter bunny. There is no mention of religion.

As with all the Fancy Nancy books, the delight is in the details. Nancy's Easter bonnet has fluffy chicks around the brim. Bree's curlicue hair is fancied up with Easter eggs. Nancy's dog Frenchie digs up a flower in the garden and tracks mud inside the house. Mom's desk computer has Post-it notes attached; a crumpled piece of paper almost made it into the trash can. Robin Preiss Glasser's colorful illustrations tell the story just as clearly as Jane O'Connor's words.

Unlike other Fancy Nancy titles, Elegant Easter does NOT have a list of the "fancy" words in the back with their definitions. These words include gala and Bonjour. Also divine, which you say "when something is so gorgeous it is very hard to top," in Nancy's words. Well said!

what a fun book, i want all of them. i have my 7 year old granddaughter read them to me when she visits my house and i will never tire of hearing her read them :o)

As Fancy Nancy prepares for her Easter gala (that's a fancy word for a party), she is busy greeting guests by saying: bonjour (that's a fancy french word for hello), and she makes a beautiful bouquet (that's a fancy word for a very pretty bunch of flowers).

Well, I think you get the idea. I am totally addicted to these adorable "fancy girl" books, that not only tells a cute story, but teaches some grown up words in each book as well. This one is especially cute and perfect for the upcoming Easter holiday. The book is not only beautifully illustrated, but it has pop up flaps full of awesome surprises in addition to some "fancy" new words for your special little girl.

Recommended for girls ages (4 - 8).

My almost 4 year old daughter adores Fancy Nancy. I bought her this book for Easter. It has flaps inside that you lift to reveal fanciness underneath. My daughter loves it. The story isn't very developed. It is just Fancy Nancy setting up for their Elegant Easter party. No real conclusion- they never actually have the party. My daughter didn't seem to notice. She was too busy seeing what fancy things she could find under the little flaps. On story alone, it would get 2 stars. It being Fancy Nancy and my daughter adoring it bumps the star rating up a bit.

My daughter loves Fancy Nancy. She might be her number one fan. This book was a great addition. It is a well made lift the flap book. We have read it enumerable times and have yet to tear off a single flap. Quality counts, and the book is fun and well written.

This book is so cute. We put it in my daughter's Easter basket and she just loved it. She loves Fancy Nancy and since this book has the flip up flaps it has become her favorite Fancy Nancy book.

I ordered this book as a gift for my daughter. I adore the Fancy Nancy books. This book is a lift-the-flap book, and it is fantastic! My daughter loves it. Too bad Amazon did not ship it on time. It arrived after Easter, but my daughter will enjoy it all year.

Fancy Nancy's family is throwing an Easter gala (that's fancy for party0. Mom has asked Nancy and Bree to help decorate. They pull out color plates and napkins because plain just won't do. They use all kinds of things reserved for special occasions. This is a very intereactive pop-up book any fancy girl would love. There's a surprise on every page. Pulling a tab or flipping a flap and you go from plain to divine!

Read this little book to my granddaughter----it was darling! It teaches about diversity( her little friend in the book) and sharing. And the little surprise doors kept a child's interest, and mine too!

It is another great book from Fancy Nancy. Came quick and was in great shape.
